Steinar Sivertsen (born 1941) is a Norwegian schoolteacher and literary critic. He graduated from the University of Oslo in 1971 as cand.philol. with a thesis on the poetry of Harald Sverdrup, and was appointed teacher at the Stavanger Cathedral School from 1973 to 2005. [1]

He was a literary critic for the newspaper Rogalands Avis from 1975 to 1992, and for Stavanger Aftenblad since 1992, and has written more than 2000 critics since he started in 1975. He was awarded the Dalgards kritikarpris  [ no ] in 1984, and again in 1997. [1]

He received the Norwegian Literature Critics Award for 2009. [2] [3]

HNoMS <i>Æger</i> (1936)

HNoMS Æger was a Sleipner-class destroyer launched at Karljohansvern naval shipyard in Horten in 1936. The Sleipner class was part of a Norwegian rearmament scheme started as war became ever more likely in the 1930s. When the Germans invaded Norway on 9 April 1940, Æger intercepted and sank the clandestine German supply ship Roda. She was shortly afterwards attacked and sunk by German bombers, claiming two of the attacking aircraft with her anti-aircraft armament before being taken out of action by a heavy bomb.

Knut Helle was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works.

The Aschehoug Prize is published annually by the Norwegian publishing house Aschehoug. The Aschehoug Prize is awarded to Norwegian authors on the basis of the merit of a recent publication. It is awarded on merit, irrespective of the publisher, based on a binding recommendation from the Norwegian Critics Organization. The prize consists of a statuette of sculptor Ørnulf Bast and 100,000 kroner (2018). The monumental sculpture Evig Liv which is the reference of the miniature statuette is to be found at Sehesteds plass in front of the publisher's main building in Oslo.

Agneta Pleijel is a Swedish novelist, poet, playwright, journalist and literary critic. Among her plays are Ordning härskar i Berlin from 1979. Among her novels are Vindspejare from 1987 and Drottningens chirurg from 2006. She has been a professor at Dramatiska Institutet since 1992. She was awarded the Dobloug Prize in 1991 and the Swedish Academy Nordic Prize in 2018.

Steinar Hansson was a Norwegian journalist and publisher. He was born in Asker. He worked as editor in the publishing house Pax Forlag, and edited the newspaper Ny Tid from 1979. From 1983 he worked for the publishing house J.W. Cappelens Forlag. He was cultural editor for the newspaper Arbeiderbladet, and later for Dagbladet. He was chief editor of Arbeiderbladet from 1995 to 2001

Helge Torvund

Helge Torvund is a Norwegian psychologist, poet, essayist, literary critic and children's writer. He was born in Hå, and is brother of sculptor Gunnar Torvund.

Niels Larsen Bruun was a Norwegian officer who served in the Royal Norwegian Navy for more than four decades. Bruun took part in neutrality protection duties during the First World War, seeing service on several naval vessels and assuming his first command. He continued his service in the inter-war years, teaching at naval schools in addition to shipboard service.
