Stephen L. Percy is an American university administrator and academic. He was the 10th president of Portland State University,Oregon's third largest university,until July 31,2023.
Percy graduated from Hamilton College (A.B. Government) and Indiana University (Ph.D. Political Science) before beginning his academic career as an Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia (1981-1988). He would later become a professor at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1988-2011) and the University of Baltimore (2011-2014),where he was also the Dean of the College of Public Affairs. Percy joined the faculty at Portland State in 2014. [1] He had been Dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs at PSU (2014-2019) when he took over as interim president when the previous president,Rahmat Shoureshi,was pressured by PSU's Board of Trustees to resign. [2] In May 2020,the board of trustees voted unanimously to make Percy's position permanent,making him the 10th president of PSU. [3] Since 1978 Percy has published 6 books,1 textbook,29 articles,and 5 book chapters. [4]

The Oregon Graduate Center was a unique,private,postgraduate-only research university in Washington County,Oregon,on the west side of Portland,from 1963 to 2001. The center was renamed the Oregon Graduate Institute in 1989. The Institute merged with the Oregon Health Sciences University in 2001,and became the OGI School of Science and Engineering within the (renamed) Oregon Health &Science University. The School was discontinued in 2008 and its campus in 2014. Demolition of the campus buildings began February 2017.

Earle Meyer Chiles was an American businessman and philanthropist from the US state of Oregon. He was born into a wealthy and influential business family. Chiles attended Menlo College and then graduate school at Stanford University. He worked in his family's retail business in Oregon,including serving on the board of directors of Fred Meyer,a large retail company founded by his grandfather. He was also chief executive officer of Earle Chiles and Affiliated Companies and president of the Chiles Foundation. Over the years,he contributed financially to numerous educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
