Stephen M. Thompson Sr. (born December 2, 1968) is an American college basketball coach and former professional player who is an assistant coach at Oregon State University.
He joined the coaching staff of the Oregon State University men's basketball program in 2014 as an assistant coach.[2]
In 2022, Thompson became the new assistant Athletic Director- Player Development,[3] before returning to his role as assistant coach in the 2023-24 season.

He was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 1987. In 2024, it was announced that Cooper would be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Following his Hall of Fame announcement, it was announced on August 15, 2024 that Cooper would have his No. 21 retired by the Lakers on January 13, 2025.

Holton, a 6-foot-4-inch (1.93 m), 185-pound (84 kg) guard, also spent his career with the Chicago Bulls, Portland Trail Blazers, and Charlotte Hornets. He also played in the CBA for four teams in as many seasons from 1983 to 1992. He started 60 games for the expansion Charlotte Hornets. Holton briefly played for Great Taste Coffee in the Philippine Basketball Association.
