Steven Ferold "Steve" Brown (born 6 July 1966) is an English former professional footballer who made nearly 550 appearances as a midfielder for Northampton Town and Wycombe Wanderers. [2] [3] He is Head of Academy Coaching at League One club Milton Keynes Dons. [4]

Club career

Born in Northampton, Brown started his career at Northampton Town, but left in December 1985 to join Irthlingborough Diamonds. He rejoined Northampton in July 1989 and was signed for Wycombe Wanderers in February 1994 by Martin O'Neill. [2]

A fan favourite at the club, Brown featured in 443 games and scored 43 goals for the club in a ten-year career, and was part of the Wycombe Wanderers team that reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 2001. [5]

Managerial career

Brown retired as a player in May 2004 but was appointed as assistant to Wycombe manager John Gorman along with fellow Blues legend Keith Ryan in November 2004. [6] After Gorman's switch to Northampton, there was speculation that Brown would follow as he had strong links to the club. However, Wycombe confirmed that Brown would be staying on to work with new manager Paul Lambert. [7]

In June 2007, Brown and Ryan left the club for what the club described as "financial reasons". [8] [9] In July 2007, Brown was appointed by John Gregory, his former manager at Wycombe, as youth team manager at Queens Park Rangers, [10] a post he held until 2009. [11]

After leaving Queens Park Rangers, Brown become involved in developing football in South-east Asia and worked as a coach on Vietnamese reality TV show Soccer Prince aiming to find a future star, with a prize of a place at the Liverpool Academy.[ citation needed ]

In October 2014, Brown joined the FA as Head of Regional Talent ID. [12] On 8 January 2018, following redundancy from his previous role with the FA, Brown joined League One club Milton Keynes Dons as Head of Academy Coaching. [13]

The 2021–22 season was Stevenage's eighth consecutive season in League Two and their 46th year in existence. Along with competing in League Two, the club are also participating in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. Manager Alex Revell left the club on 15 November 2021 with the club having won three of their opening 16 league matches. Academy manager Robbie O’Keefe was named as caretaker manager while the club looked for a replacement. Paul Tisdale was appointed as manager on 28 November 2021. Stevenage and Tisdale parted ways on March 16, 2022, with Steve Evans taking charge as manager.

During the 2007–08 English football season, Darlington F.C. competed in League two of English football as well as the FA Cup, the League Cup and the League Trophy.

The 2023–24 season is the 20th season in the history of Milton Keynes Dons and their first season back in League Two since the 2018–19 season following relegation from League One the previous season. The club will also compete in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.
