Steve Christensen (born April 23, 1978) is a Grammy Award winning American recording engineer, record producer and musician. [1] [2]

Career

Steve began his recording career in Houston, Texas at SugarHill Recording Studios [3] in 1998 as an intern and quickly moved up to lead engineer by 2000. His work includes international touring as live sound engineer for Destiny's Child and studio albums by Jermaine Dupri, Cash Money Records, Steve Earle, Khruangbin and Robert Ellis. Steve operates his own studio in downtown Houston, Texas.

Southern Backtones was an American Southwestern rock band from Houston, Texas composed of Hank Schyma, Todd Sommer, and John Griffin. Got to Be Tough is a studio album by Jamaican reggae band Toots and the Maytals. It was released through Trojan Jamaica/BMG on 28 August 2020 and financed by Trojan Jamaica owner Zak Starkey, who also played guitar for the recording. The album is the first studio release from Toots and the Maytals in more than a decade and the first after an accident wherein bandleader Toots Hibbert was hit in the head with a glass bottle, leading to his hiatus from performing. J.T. is a studio album by American rock band Steve Earle & The Dukes. The album is a tribute to Earle's oldest son, Justin Townes Earle, who died of an accidental drug overdose on August 20, 2020. It was released by New West Records on January 4, 2021 on what would have been Justin's 39th birthday. Recording sessions took place at Electric Lady Studios in New York City with Ray Kennedy as audio engineer. Production was handled by Steve Earle himself. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 82 based on eleven reviews.
