The Waikato is a local government region of the upper North Island of New Zealand. It covers the Waikato District, Waipa District, Matamata-Piako District, South Waikato District and Hamilton City, as well as Hauraki, Coromandel Peninsula, the northern King Country, much of the Taupō District, and parts of Rotorua District. It is governed by the Waikato Regional Council.
Hamilton Boys' High School is a boys' secondary school in Hamilton, New Zealand and is the largest secondary school in the Waikato region. The school was established as Hamilton High School in 1911 but was later split into separate boys' and girls' schools Hamilton Girls' High School, with the current school opened in February 1955. The school crest features a lion, sash and star, and bears the motto "Sapiens Fortunam Fingit Sibi" which translates to "a wise man carves his own fortune". The school colours are black and red.
FMG Stadium Waikato is a major sporting and cultural events venue in Hamilton, New Zealand, with a total capacity of 25,800. Four areas contribute to this capacity: The Brian Perry Stand holding 12,000, the WEL Networks Stand holding 8,000, the Goal Line Terrace holding 800 and the Greenzone can hold up to 5,000 people. Declan O'Donnell is a New Zealand international rugby sevens player. William Robert Gordon is a former New Zealand rugby union player. A loose forward, where he could play either blind side flanker or No. 8. Gordon represented Otago and Waikato at a provincial level. He was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, in 1990 on the tour on France, during which he played three matches but no tests. He also appeared in a New Zealand XV in 1991 playing unofficial tests against Russia, an Australian XV and Romania. He also holds the New Zealand and World records for the most tries (5) scored by a forward in a national championship rugby match. This outstanding and unique world record still stands today. Between 1997 and 1999, when working and playing rugby for Toshiba in Tokyo, Japan he played 17 test matches for Japan, including three test matches at the 1999 Rugby World Cup.

Waikato are a New Zealand professional rugby union team based in Hamilton, New Zealand. The union was originally established in 1921, with the National Provincial Championship established in 1976. They now play in the reformed National Provincial Championship competition. They play their home games at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton in the Waikato region. The team is affiliated with the Chiefs Super Rugby franchise. Their home playing colours are red, yellow and black.
