Stevie Scott is a rugby union coach and former player who gained 11 caps with Scotland from 2000 to 2004. [1] He played as hooker at Edinburgh [2] and Border Reivers. [3] He coached at Selkirk [4] and Sale Sharks. He was assistant coach at Scotland and forward coach at Edinburgh Rugby.
Born 26 July 1974 in Galashiels, Scotland. He attended Henninger High School. [5]
Scott played club rugby for Melrose and Kelso. He played 99 matches for Edinburgh. [6] In March 2006 he extended his contract to play with Border Reivers. [7]
Scott made his debut for Scotland as a replacement against New Zealand at Auckland on 1 July 2000. [8] His last cap came on the 2004 tour of Oceania.
Scott's first coaching role was in 2006 at Selkirk. [5] [6] Then for three years he worked with the SRU’s Academy at Murrayfield. [6] He joined Sale as coach in December 2010. [9] In September 2012 years he was dismissed. [10] In January 2013 he became a coaching assistant for the Scotland national team.
In March 2013 he became an interim head coach with Edinburgh, along with Duncan Hodge. [11] This led to him being given the position of forwards coach. [12] In April 2016, his contract was extended for two years. [13] In May 2017, Edinburgh announced that he was leaving the club. [14]
In December 2018, Scott was announced as the forwards coach for the Utah Warriors rugby union team in the USA's Major League Rugby. [15]

Gregor Peter John Townsend, is a Scottish rugby union coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Scotland national team having previously been an assistant coach from 2009 to 2012. As a player, he won 82 caps for Scotland and two for the British and Irish Lions. He is a former coach of Glasgow Warriors and was a player-coach for Border Reivers. As well as in Scotland, he played club rugby in Australia, England, France and South Africa. As coach of Scotland, his team won at Twickenham for the first time in 38 years in 2021. Townsend was selected as attack coach for the 2021 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa.
Netherdale is a sports complex in Galashiels, Scottish Borders, consisting of two adjacent stadiums used for rugby union and football. The rugby ground is the home of Gala RFC and was formerly used by the professional Border Reivers team. It hosted one match of the 1999 Rugby World Cup. It has also occasionally been used for rugby league matches. The football ground is home to Gala Fairydean Rovers and has a Category A listed grandstand.
