The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. The A-10's member schools are located mostly on the East Coast and Midwest of the United States: Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
The Missouri Valley Conference is the fourth-oldest collegiate athletic conference in the United States. The conference's members are primarily located in the Midwest though with substantial extension into the South in states like Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
Robert Jerry Lanier Jr. was an American professional basketball player. He played center for the Detroit Pistons and the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Lanier was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992.
Loyola Academy is a private, co-educational college preparatory high school run by the USA Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus in Wilmette, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, and in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. It is a member of the Jesuit Secondary Education Association and the largest Jesuit high school in America, with over 2,000 students from more than 80 different zip codes throughout the Chicago area. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1909.
St. Joseph's Preparatory School, known as "St. Joe’s Prep" or simply "The Prep", is an urban, private, Catholic, college preparatory school run by the Society of Jesus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The school was founded in 1851 from the Old St. Joseph's Church in the city's Society Hill neighborhood. The school moved to its current campus on Girard Avenue in the 1870s with the construction of the Church of the Gesu.
Frederick Mitchell Walker, nicknamed "Mysterious", was an American athlete and coach. He was a three-sport athlete for the University of Chicago from 1904 to 1906 and played Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Brooklyn Superbas, Pittsburgh Rebels and Brooklyn Tip-Tops.
The Chicago Catholic League (CCL) is a high school athletic conference based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. All of the schools are part of the Illinois High School Association, the governing body for Illinois scholastic sports. While some of the schools are coeducational institutions, the conference only supports athletics for male teams.
The Loyola Ramblers are the varsity sports teams of Loyola University Chicago. Most teams compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference, which the school joined in 2022 after leaving the Missouri Valley Conference. They previously played in the Horizon League. Notable athletes from Loyola have included middle-distance runner Tom O'Hara, volleyball player Thomas Jaeschke, and basketball players Mike Novak, Jerry Harkness, Les Hunter, Wayne Sappleton, Alfredrick Hughes, LaRue Martin, and Blake Schilb.
The St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's basketball team is the college basketball team that represents St. Bonaventure University, located near the city of Olean, New York. The school's team currently competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference and plays its home games at the Reilly Center. The Bonnies are currently coached by all-time coaching wins leader Mark Schmidt, who during his 12th season surpassed former coach Larry Weise with his 203rd victory.
The Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team represents Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The Ramblers participate as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Ramblers had joined the Missouri Valley Conference in 2013, and stayed until 2022. Prior to 2013, the team had spent 34 seasons as a charter member of the Horizon League.
Loyola University Chicago is a private Jesuit research university in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Founded in 1870 by the Society of Jesus, Loyola is one of the largest Catholic universities in the United States. Its namesake is Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Loyola's professional schools include programs in medicine, nursing, and health sciences anchored by the Loyola University Medical Center, and the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".
Porter Andrew Moser is a college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the University of Oklahoma men's basketball team. Moser spent 10 years (2011–2021) at Loyola University Chicago, helping lead the Ramblers to the Final Four in 2018.
Daniel J. White is an American university sports administrator. He is the athletic director for the Tennessee Volunteers. White held the same position at the University at Buffalo from 2012 to 2015 and the University of Central Florida from 2015 to 2021. Prior to his tenure at Buffalo, he was the senior associate athletic director for Ole Miss.
Claude Allen Greene IV, is the director of athletics at the University of Pittsburgh, a position to which he was named on October 18, 2024. He previously served as the director of athletics for Auburn University from 2018 to 2022, and for the University at Buffalo, and as assistant athletic director for the University of Mississippi and the senior deputy athletics director and chief operating officer at the University of Tennessee. Greene attended college at the University of Notre Dame, and was a two-year starter on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team. He was a ninth-round draft pick of the New York Yankees in the 1998 Major League Baseball draft, and went on to a four-year career in the minor leagues for the Yankees, playing for the Oneonta Yankees, Greensboro Bats, Tampa Yankees, and Elmira Pioneers. He grew up in Bellevue, Washington and attended O'Dea High School in Seattle, playing baseball and basketball, graduating 1995.
Tim Kenney is an American college athletics administrator and former basketball coach. Kenney served as athletic director at St. Bonaventure University from 2015 to 2021. He previously served as assistant athletic director at Stony Brook University from 1997 to 2004, and as associate athletic director at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2004 to 2015. Kenney attended college at the University at Buffalo, where he was an All-American breaststroker on the Buffalo Bulls swimming team. Kenney credits his swimming career success to his mentor, Stewart ‘Clams’ Karp, who he trained with during his youth in Dix Hills, Long Island. Kenney later served as an assistant basketball coach on the Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team from 1995 to 1996, prior to beginning his career in athletic administration. Kenney was named athletic director at St. Bonaventure University on March 10, 2015. Kenney left St. Bonaventure on May 31, 2021, when his contract expired and was not renewed.
Clayton Custer is an American former basketball player and current assistant coach for the Oklahoma Sooners. A 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) point guard, he played college basketball for Loyola University Chicago, and was the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. Custer briefly played professional basketball for Śląsk Wroclaw of the Polish Basketball League.
Bill Bradshaw is a former American college athletics administrator. He served as athletic director at La Salle University from 1978 to 1986, DePaul University from 1986 to 2002, Temple University from 2002 to 2013, and again at La Salle University from 2016 to 2019. Bradshaw attended college at La Salle University, where he played on the school's baseball team. Bradshaw was named interim athletic director at La Salle on March 9, 2016, before being named permanent athletic director on March 28, 2017. Bradshaw retired as athletic director at La Salle on June 30, 2019.
Joe Manhertz is an American sports professional who formerly served as the director of athletics for St. Bonaventure University. He previously served as associate athletic director at Duke University from 2010 to 2021, and in various administrative roles at the Ohio State University, Hamilton College, Syracuse University, and Colgate University. Manhertz grew up in Fairport, New York.
Ronald Zwierlein is an American athletic administrator who was the athletic director at John Carroll University, Bowling Green State University, and St. Bonaventure University.
