Steve Whiteman (born August 28, 1956) is an American rock vocalist, best known for being the lead singer of Kix.
Whiteman first realized his love for music at a young age, as a child, he would hurry home from church to play, by ear, the hymnals he'd heard during Sunday service. He started his music career playing drums in a Led Zeppelin cover band.
Whiteman was recruited to join Kix in 1978 while they were known as "The Shooze". Whiteman and then-drummer Donnie Spence would alternate between who would drum and who would sing until it was decided that since Whiteman could hit the harder notes that he should stay as lead singer, Spence would soon leave in 1979 and be replaced by current-drummer Jimmy "Chocolate" Chalfant. The group has released seven studio albums and one live album with Whiteman on vocals, the band went on hiatus in 1996 due to growing tensions within the band, a decline in the popularity of hard rock, and declining record sales of their album $how Bu$ine$$. Over the past 30 years he has been instrumental in keeping the band together during various personnel changes.
Funny Money was formed by Whiteman and guitarist Billy Andrews after they met at a charity gig in 1996 after Kix disbanded, the group has released four studio albums and one live album since its formation and currently consists of Whiteman, Dean Cramer (one of Whiteman's vocal students), and fellow Kix alumni Jimmy Chalfant and Mark Schenker. Whiteman also took the downtime from Kix to begin a teaching career, he would go on to teach vocals, drums, guitar, and harmonica at the Maryland Institute of Music, his vocal students include Jordan White and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. In 2003, the members of Kix, sans Donnie Purnell, reformed with bassist, vocalist and songwriter Mark Schenker (originally from Centerfold) and has since released the critically acclaimed Rock Your Face Off in 2014. This had led to a resurgence in the band's popularity and they maintain an active touring schedule throughout the country. Although back with Kix and on a regular tour schedule, Steve Whiteman, as well as Jimmy Chalfant and Brian Forsythe, are all instructors at the Maryland Institute of Music L.L.C. Whiteman's daughter, Carly, is also an instructor of vocals and piano there. [2]

Studio album
The Scorpions are a German rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Since the band's inception, its musical style has ranged from hard rock, heavy metal and glam metal to soft rock. The lineup from 1978 to 1992 was the most successful incarnation of the group, and included Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs, Francis Buchholz (bass), and Herman Rarebell (drums). The band's only continuous member has been Schenker, although Meine has appeared on all of Scorpions' studio albums, while Jabs has been a consistent member since 1978, and bassist Paweł Mąciwoda and drummer Mikkey Dee have been in the band since 2003 and 2016 respectively.
Kix was an American glam metal and hard rock band formed in 1976, that achieved popularity during the 1980s. Led by front man Steve Whiteman and bassist Donnie Purnell, the band's classic lineup was rounded out by guitarists Ronnie "10/10" Younkins and Brian "Damage" Forsythe and drummer Jimmy "Chocolate" Chalfant. Kix covered AC/DC, Aerosmith, April Wine, Led Zeppelin, and others before signing with Atlantic Records in 1981. Since peaking in the late-1980s, band members continued to record and tour until their disbandment in 2023.

The record was produced by Howard Benson and includes a collaboration with Evanescence's former member Ben Moody as a co-writer in the track "Innocence". The album was produced by Howard Benson, who also produced the band's self-titled debut album. The song "Freak Like Me" was the band's first single to reach number one on the Mainstream Rock chart. The song "Here's to Us" was performed on the US television show, Glee, with clean lyrics. Four of the album's songs were previously released on the sneak-preview EP Hello, It's Mz. Hyde. A deluxe edition of the album was also released containing three bonus tracks. A different version of the song "Here's to Us" featuring multiple guests including Slash was included as a bonus track on the reissue version of the standard and deluxe version of the album in 2013. In interviews about the album, Hale noted that the album was heavier than their previous album, but was significantly closer to the sound of them live.
