Steve Williams (born 8 May 1973) is a former Australian racing cyclist. He won the Australian national road race title in 2001. [1]

Australian National Road Race Championships

The Australian National Road Race Championships, are held annually with an event for each category of rider: Men, Women & under 23 riders. The event also includes the Australian National Time Trial Championships since 2002. The Australian Championships were officially known as the Scody Australian Open Road Cycling Championships from 1999 to 2010, taking the name of their main sponsor. This changed to the Mars Cycling Australia Road National Championships from 2011 but they are more commonly referred to as The Nationals. The under 23 championships were introduced in 2001. Note that these results do not currently include the senior and junior amateur road race championships that were held prior to the open era.

1982 Commonwealth Games 12th edition of the Commonwealth Games

The 1982 Commonwealth Games were held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia from 30 September to 9 October 1982. The Opening Ceremony was held at the QEII Stadium, in the Brisbane suburb of Nathan. The QEII Stadium was also the venue which was used for the athletics and archery competitions during the Games. Other events were held at the purpose-built Sleeman Sports Complex in Chandler.

Cliff Williams English musician

Clifford Williams is an English musician who was a member of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC as their bassist and backing vocalist from 1977 to 2016. He had started his professional music career in 1967 and was previously in the British groups Home and Bandit. His first studio album with AC/DC was Powerage in 1978. The band, including Williams, was inducted into the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. Williams' side projects, while a member of AC/DC, include benefit concerts and playing with Emir & Frozen Camels on their album San (2002) and a European tour. In 2016, Williams announced his retirement from the music industry after AC/DC's Rock or Bust World Tour.

Tin Tin was a pop rock band, which first formed in Australia as The Kinetics in 1966. They relocated to the United Kingdom in 1969 and were renamed as Tin Tin, which comprised Steve Kipner, Steve Groves, John Vallins and Geoff Bridgford (drums). In 1970 they issued a single, "Toast and Marmalade for Tea", which was a No. 10 hit on the Go-Set National Singles Chart in June the following year. Steve Williams, MNZM is a New Zealander who has served as a caddie for several top professional golfers, most recently with Adam Scott. Williams is best known for having served as Tiger Woods' caddie from 1999 to 2011. Woods was the top-ranked golfer in the world for much of Williams' tenure as his caddy.

Irwin achieved worldwide fame from the television series The Crocodile Hunter (1996–2007), an internationally broadcast wildlife documentary series which he co-hosted with his wife Terri; the couple also hosted the series Croc Files (1999–2001), The Crocodile Hunter Diaries (2002–2006), and New Breed Vets (2005). Bindi Irwin Australian-American actress, conservationist and television host

Bindi Sue Irwin is an Australian actress, television personality, conservationist, model, singer and dancer. She is the only daughter of the late conservationist and television personality Steve Irwin and his conservationist and author wife Terri Irwin, owner of the Australia Zoo. Bindi's younger brother is Robert Irwin, a television personality and photographer, and she is the granddaughter of naturalist and herpetologist Bob Irwin. Mitchelton–Scott is a women's professional cycling team based in Australia, sponsored by Orica for its first five years. Riders for Mitchelton–Scott compete in the UCI Women's World Tour and other elite women's events throughout the world.

Lizzie Williams cyclist

Lizzie Williams is an Australian racing cyclist. Williams originally quit the sport in 2004 and returned ten years later at the end of 2013, spending the time before her comeback as a teacher whilst playing Australian rules football. In a gap in the 2014 NRS calender, Williams was a guest rider in the USA with Jono Coulter managed team Vanderkitten for a couple of months. Coulter suggested she apply for the Amy Gillett Cycling Scholarship, she was awarded the 2014 scholarship to race with the Australian National team in Europe the next month. She rode at the 2014 UCI Road World Championships.

Michael Freiberg Australian bicycle racer

Michael Freiberg is an Australian male track cyclist and road cyclist who has ridden for the national team. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Freiberg was part of the Australian squad which took gold in the team pursuit, and also took an individual silver in the scratch race. He became world champion in the omnium event at the 2011 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. However Cycling Australia did not select him for either the team pursuit or omnium at the 2012 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, thus preventing him from defending his title on home soil in Melbourne, and he was similarly not picked for the Australian squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics, being passed over in favour of Glenn O'Shea for the omnium in both championships. Freiberg subsequently put his racing career on hold in order to develop the AIRhub, a resistance training unit designed to simulate mountain riding on flat roads, which is used by a number of UCI WorldTour professionals in their training, including André Greipel, Mat Hayman, Adam Hansen, Esteban Chaves and Luke Durbridge. Freiberg subsequently returned to competition in 2017, joining IsoWhey Sports SwissWellness in May of that year with the aim of competing for Australia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Queensland. In 2019 Freiberg won the Australian road race title.

Niall Williams is a New Zealand rugby sevens player and former New Zealand international touch football captain. She is a member of New Zealand's women's national rugby sevens team and was selected for their squad to the 2016 Summer Olympics, where New Zealand claimed the silver medal behind Australia. In touch football she won gold at the 2005 Youth World Cup and silver at the 2011 Touch Football World Cup.
