Baden Cooke is an Australian retired professional racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2000 and 2013.
The Herald Sun Tour is an Australian professional bicycle race held in Melbourne and provincial Victoria, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The first tour was held in October 1952 as a six-day event. It is now held annually over five days in February. It is named after the Herald Sun, Melbourne's only daily tabloid newspaper. It was originally known as the Sun Tour after The Sun News-Pictorial, and changed its name when The Sun News-Pictorial merged with The Herald in 1990.
Simon Gerrans is an Australian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2005 and 2018, for the AG2R Prévoyance, Crédit Agricole, Cervélo TestTeam, Team Sky, Orica–Scott and BMC Racing Team squads. Post-retirement he initially worked as an athlete intern at Goldman Sachs in London, then joined The Service Course, in which he is an investor, as COO and now CEO, in early 2020. He can also be heard commentating road cycling for ASO and SBS.

He represented his native country at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, where he won the silver medal in the men's individual road race, behind the Netherlands' Hennie Kuiper. He also competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics.

Drapac–EF p/b Cannondale Holistic Development Team was an Australian UCI Continental cycling team focusing on road bicycle racing. It was founded in 2004 by Michael Drapac to promote cycling in Australia and became a UCI team in 2006. In November 2013 the team was promoted from UCI Continental to Professional Continental status. In June 2016 it was announced that Drapac would become co-sponsor of the UCI WorldTeam Cannondale for the remainder of the year, before a merger with Drapac Professional Cycling for 2017. The sponsorship deal was agreed for five years, with Michael Drapac becoming a joint owner of the Cannondale team's holding company Slipstream Sports and continuing to fund a development squad under the name Drapac–Pat's Veg.
Team Jayco–AlUla is an Australian professional road race cycling team. Launched in January 2011, it competes at UCI WorldTeam level. The team was formed under the management of Andrew Ryan and Shayne Bannan, with Neil Stephens and Matt White as Sporting Directors. The team rides Giant bicycles, and wear Giordana Cycling clothing and Scott eyewear. The team has financial backing from Australian businessman Gerry Ryan who owns Jayco Australia.

He now works as a cycling journalist and commentator for Australian broadcaster SBS. He has been involved with the UCI Continental teams Black Spoke Pro Cycling Academy and EuroCyclingTrips - CMI Pro Cycling.

The 2017 Jayco Herald Sun Tour was a road cycling stage race that took place in Victoria, Australia, between 1 and 5 February 2017. The race was rated as a 2.1 event as part of the 2017 UCI Oceania Tour. The race included five stages: the first was a 2.1 km (1.3 mi) prologue individual time trial stage, with the remaining four stages being road stages. The champion of the 2016 Herald Sun Tour, Chris Froome attempted to defend his title.
