Stephen Anthony Ndukwu (born 15 June 1995 [1] ) popularly known as Steven Ndukwu is a Nigerian filmmaker, content curator and media entrepreneur from Lagos. His short films and documentaries center on projecting Africa's beauty, tourist destinations, culture, environment, people, African entrepreneurs and businesses in a positive way and as a center of attraction for foreign tourists. [2] His YouTube content focuses mainly on destinations, cultures and real estate in African countries. [3] [4] In 2022, he appeared among the 26 selected African YouTube creators to join the second year of YouTube Black Voices Fund. [5] [6]

Background

He hails from Imo State, part of southeast Nigeria. He was born into a nuclear family of seven and raised alongside his four other siblings. He began his career as a photograph and video editor, then utilized the potentials of the digital economy in creating tourist content on African continent and people. His passion in telling the African story earned him recognition, hence nominated and featured in various media outlets, including Business Day, ThisDay Live, The Guardian, Tribune, BellaNaija, Independent Newspaper, and TW Magazine3 in which many of them describe him as a travel and real estate influencer. His style of content making aims at promoting Africa and Africans in a positive platform, creating friendly awareness on Africa's rich culture, diversity and potentials. [7] He was selected to be part of the 2022 YouTube Black Voices Fund by Google, an initiative to empower black creators. [8] [9] [10]

Education and career

He began his early carrier as a graphic designer, videographer and web designer, from there, he became an internet personality and YouTuber. In his YouTube channel, he has about 50 million views on his 193 documentaries that centers on African tourist sites with over 420,000 YouTube subscribers. [11] His content mainly showcases the beauty of African cities and jungles and has toured most of the African tourist sites. He has also engaged on face talk interviews with some international personalities. In April 2024, he visited the Akon city in Senegal to investigate the reality of the city. [12] In line with his scope of work, he has collaborated with brands including, World Trade Center Abuja, Zimbabwe & Rwanda tourism boards, Ogun state government Nigeria, and Eko Atlantic City. [13]

Personal life

He was born into the family of seven and have four siblings from his parents. He is single and does not have any children at this time. He is focused on his content, tourist documentaries and real estate videos. He is a Christian and an Igbo from Imo state, southeast Nigeria.
