Stian Grimseth (born 24 July 1972) is a Norwegian former weightlifter from Naustdal. He won the gold medal in snatch at the European Championships in 1996 and 1997, and the bronze medal in total at the latter. [1] Grimseth won twelve consecutive gold medals at the Norwegian Championship from 1993 to 2004, and two additional national gold medals in 2007 and 2008. [2] He is a two-time Olympian and competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the +108 kg event and the 2004 Athens Olympics in the +105 kg event. [1] Grimseth retired in 2008. [1] He was elected President of the Norwegian Weightlifting Federation in 2019. [3]

In September 2000, Grimseth tested positive for the banned substance nandrolone and missed the 2000 Sydney Olympics. [4] He later served a six month national and 15 month international suspension. [5] Analyses showed that the substance came from the supplement Ribose and Grimseth filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer Universal Nutrition in 2002 that was settled four years later. [6] [1]

Grimseth is an active member of the Conservative Party. [7]

Stefan Khristov Botev is an Olympic weightlifter who represented Bulgaria and later for Australia. He was coached by Ivan Abadzhiev. Botev is a two-time world and European champion, winner of the World Cup in 1988 and was voted as Bulgaria's Sportsperson of the Year in 1990. Stefan is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist - once for Bulgaria in 1992 and once for Australia in 1996. Botev is a three-time gold medalist from the Goodwill Games in Seattle in 1990.

Ilya Aleksandrovich Ilyin is a retired Kazakhstani weightlifter who won four world championships. On 12 December, 2015 at the President's Cup in Grozny, Russia, Ilyin set two world records in the −105 kg class. He lifted 246 kg in the clean and jerk and 437 kg in the total. Ilyin was named IWF World Weightlifter of the Year four times: in 2005, 2006, 2014, and 2015.
