Strikeforce: Nashville was a mixed martial arts event produced by Strikeforce, it took place on April 17, 2010, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, United States and broadcast domestically on CBS. [2]
The main event was originally rumored to be Fedor Emelianenko taking on Fabrício Werdum. [3] However, the fight was moved to a future event. [4]
Bobby Lashley was expected to fight on the card, as the promotion had already submitted an opponent for Lashley and was awaiting from the Tennessee Athletic Commission. [5] According to Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, the bout would likely be the fourth bout on the CBS televised portion of the event. [5] On April 5, Lashley confirmed that he would not appear on the card since Strikeforce officials could not guarantee an appearance on the televised portion of the card due to time constraints. [6]
The event was marred by a post-fight brawl following the main event. During Jake Shields' post-fight interview, Jason Miller gained access to the cage and interrupted Shields, asking, "Where's my rematch, buddy?" After both Gilbert Melendez and Shields pushed Miller away, Nick Diaz then threw the initial punch to start the full-scale brawl. Members of the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu camp, including Melendez, Nick and Nate Diaz attacked Miller, while Miller was restrained on the canvas by members of Diaz's camp. The fight was then broken up by referees, members of Dan Henderson's corner and members of security. The brawl resulted in CBS cancelling its half of Strikeforce's television contract: MMA would not return to network television until November 2011 with UFC on Fox: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos.

Alistair Cees Overeem is a Dutch professional heavyweight mixed martial artist and kickboxer, currently competing in the heavyweight division of Glory. He is a former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, Dream Heavyweight Champion, K-1 World Grand Prix Champion, and was the first fighter to hold world titles in MMA and K-1 kickboxing at the same time.
Jason Nicholas Miller, best known as Mayhem Miller, is an American mixed martial arts fighter and TV host. Miller coaches fighters in Irvine, California at Mayhem Martial Arts and has trained extensively with Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, California. He has fought in the UFC, Strikeforce, WFA, WEC and DREAM. Miller was the host of MTV's reality series Bully Beatdown.

Henderson was the Brazil Open '97 Tournament Champion, the UFC 17 Middleweight Tournament Champion, the Rings: King of Kings 1999 Tournament Champion and the Pride Welterweight Grand Prix Tournament Champion. Fabrício Werdum is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and former UFC Heavyweight Champion who competes in the Heavyweight division. He is also a 4-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, a two-time Abu Dhabi Combat Club World Heavyweight Champion and European jiu-jitsu champion. He holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Judo, and Muay Thai. Werdum has competed in PRIDE, the UFC, Strikeforce, and Jungle Fight. At the time of his departure from the UFC, Werdum was #14 in the UFC heavyweight rankings.
