Stylebender is a 2023 New Zealand documentary film, focusing on the life of Nigerian and New Zealand professional mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya.
The film follows Adesanya's early life, upbringing, and his decision to pursue mixed martial arts professionally.[ citation needed ]
The film is the sixth major release by director Zoe McIntosh, [1] who began working on the film in 2019. [2] The film was shot over a five-year period. [3] Adesanya was inspired to create the film documenting his life, to combat ideas of toxic masculinity. [4]
The film debuted at the Tribeca Festival on 11 June 2023, [5] which Adesanya attended in person. [6] Stylebender was nominated for Best Documentary at the festival. [3] The film was later screened at the Zurich Film Festival in September 2023. [7] The film received a wide release in New Zealand cinemas on 28 September. [4] [3]
The movie was released on Apple TV in 2024 and will be released worldwide on 24 September 2024.

The film explores the brony phenomenon, the adult fan base of the children's animated show My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic that arose shortly after its premiere in 2010. The film is structured around the journey of Ashleigh Ball, one of the principal voice actresses for the show, including her initial reactions to learning of this older fanbase, and her travel as a Guest of Honor to one of the first fan conventions BronyCon held in New York City in 2012. Hodge, a close friend of and previous collaborator with Ball, was curious as she was as to this phenomenon and opted to film her travel and appearance at the convention for the documentary.

Pereira is the only known fighter to be a two-division world champion in MMA and kickboxing and is regarded as one of the greatest combat athletes of all time.
