Susan Denise Meek AO is an Australian scientist. From 2008 to 2016, she was the Chief Executive of the Australian Academy of Science.
Prior to her role at the Academy, Meek was Australia's inaugural Gene Technology Regulator from December 2001. [1] This statutory appointment was established by the Australian Federal Government to administer the national regulatory system for the development and use of genetically modified organisms.
Before this, Meek held senior State Government positions in South Australia and Western Australia where she was responsible for the development and implementation of policies on science and technology and public sector intellectual property management; the administration of grant programs to support innovation and develop research capabilities; and the formulation of strategies to support emerging R&D intensive, emerging industries such as aquaculture, biotechnology and renewable energy. In the industry sphere, Meek has principally been involved with environmental consultancies and the establishment of biologically-based business ventures.[ citation needed ]

Simon "Si" Ramo was an American engineer, businessman, and author. He led development of microwave and missile technology and is sometimes known as the father of the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). He also developed General Electric's electron microscope. He played prominent roles in the formation of two Fortune 500 companies, Ramo-Wooldridge and Bunker Ramo Corporation.
The Eureka Prizes are awarded annually by the Australian Museum, Sydney, to recognise individuals and organizations who have contributed to science and the understanding of science in Australia. They were founded in 1990 following a suggestion by science journalist Robyn Williams.

Genevieve Bell is an Australian cultural anthropologist, best known for her work at the intersection of cultural practice research and technological development, and for being an industry pioneer of the user experience field. Bell was the inaugural director of the Autonomy, Agency and Assurance Innovation Institute (3Ai), which was co-founded by the Australian National University (ANU) and CSIRO’s Data61, and a Distinguished Professor of the ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics. In 2021, she became the inaugural Director of the new ANU School of Cybernetics. She also holds the university's Florence Violet McKenzie Chair, and is the first SRI International Engelbart Distinguished Fellow. Bell is also a Senior Fellow and Vice President at Intel. She is widely published, and holds 13 patents.
Alexander ‘Alex’ Zelinsky, is an Australian computer scientist, systems engineer and roboticist. His career spans innovation, science and technology, research and development, commercial start-ups and education. Professor Zelinsky is Vice-chancellor and President of the University of Newcastle joining the university in November 2018. He was the Chief Defence Scientist of Australia from March 2012 until November 2018. As Chief Defence Scientist he led defence science and technology for Australia's Department of Defence.
