Paduka Sri Sultan Sulaiman Shah II ibni al-Marhum Sultan Mudzaffar Shah III (Jawi: ڤدوك سري سلطان سليمان شاه ٢ ابن المرحوم سلطان مظفر شاه ٣; died 28 February 1626) was the 12th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1602 to 1626. During his reign, raids from Aceh Sultanate had destroyed many black pepper plantation in Langkawi, as Aceh wanted to monopolize the industry. He built Kota Kuala Bahang as a defensive fortress in response to the Aceh raid with assistance from the Portuguese Empire. A huge raid from Aceh in 1619 destroyed the fortress and forced the Portuguese to evacuate.
Paduka Sri Sultan Zainal Rashid Mu'adzam Shah II ibni Almarhum Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Mukarram Shah was the 25th Sultan of Kedah. He reigned from 1879 to 1881. He was the son of Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Mukarram Shah with Wan Tan binti Almarhum Luang Nik Abidin. He married Tengku Mariam binti Almarhum Tengku Ziauddin and had only a princess, Tengku Aishah.
Paduka Sri Sultan Mu'adzam Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Mudzaffar Shah I was the second Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1179 to 1202.
Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Mu'adzam Shah was the third Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1202 to 1237. The first gold coin used in Kedah had the words "Muhammed Shah" and "Al-Sultan Al-Kedah" on either side.
Paduka Sri Sultan Muzzil Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Shah was the fourth Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1237 to 1280. He moved his new capital to Kota Sungai Mas from Kota Meriam.
Paduka Sri Sultan Mahmud Shah I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muzzil Shah was the fifth Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1280 to 1321. He had ordered the construction of Kota Seputih and Kota Di Hulu Sungai Merpah as fortress from the Tenasserim tribe.
Paduka Sri Sultan Ibrahim Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Shah I was the sixth Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1321 to 1373. He established his capital at Kota Seputih in May 1323.
Paduka Sri Sultan Sulaiman Shah I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Ibrahim Shah was the seventh Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1373 to 1423. His reign saw an invasion from Samudera Pasai that conquered a few cities in Kedah.
Paduka Sri Sultan Ataullah Muhammad Shah I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Sulaiman Shah I was the eighth Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1423 to 1473.
Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin Mu'adzam Shah I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Ataullah Muhammad Shah I was the ninth Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1473 to 1506 and was marked by land reform and the encouragement of the use of gold and silver for trading instead the barter system.
Paduka Sri Sultan Mahmud Shah II ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin Mu'adzam Shah I was the tenth Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1506 to 1547. He changed the name of his realm to Kedah Dar ul-Aman, and established a stable currency and encouraged trade.
Paduka Sri Sultan Mudzaffar Shah III ibni al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Shah II was the 11th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1547 to 1602.
Paduka Sri Sultan Rijaluddin Muhammad Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Sulaiman Shah II was the 13th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1626 to 1652. He assumed the regency when his father was carried off to Aceh in 1619 as a prisoner. He appealed for help from the King of Siam, in an attempt to counter Acehnese hegemony. He removed his capital to Kota Naga in August 1626. He entered into diplomatic relations with the Dutch in Batavia. Hukum Kanun Kedah and Undang-Undang Pelabuhan Kedah which was a law very similar to Undang-Undang Melaka was written during his reign.
Paduka Sri Sultan Muhyiddin Mansur Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Rijaluddin Muhammad Shah was the 14th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1652 to 1662. He established his capital at Kota Sena in 1654. He accepted Siamese suzerainty and dispatched the first "Bunga Mas" in September 1660.
Paduka Sri Sultan Dziaddin Mukarram Shah I ibni Almarhum Sultan Muhyiddin Mansur Shah was the 15th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1662 to 1688. He established his capital at Wai, in Perlis, which he named Kota Indira Kayangan in August 1664. He accepted Siamese suzerainty and dispatched the first "Bunga Mas" in January 1674.
Paduka Sri Sultan Ataullah Muhammad Shah II ibni al-Marhum Sultan Dziaddin Mukarram Shah I was the 16th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1688 to 1698. He became Regent for his aged father, 1682. He removed his capital to Kota Bukit Pinang.
Paduka Sri Sultan Abdullah Mu'adzam Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Ataullah Muhammad Shah II was the 17th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1698 to 1706.
Paduka Sri Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Halim Shah I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Abdullah Mu'adzam Shah was the 18th Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1706 to 1710. He was appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Raja Muda, after his elder brother, Tunku Muhammad Jiwa had left for Sumatra.
Paduka Sri Sultan Abdullah Mukarram Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin Mu'adzam Shah II was the 20th Sultan of Kedah who reigned from 1778 to 1797. In 1780, he ordered the fortress of Kota Kuala Bahang that was destroyed by Aceh in 1619 to be rebuilt in exactly the same way as the original.
Paduka Sri Sultan Zainal Rashid Al-Mu'adzam Shah I ibni Almarhum Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Halim Shah II was the 23rd Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1845 to 1854.
Paduka Sri Sultan Dziaddin Mukarram Shah II ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin Mu'adzam Shah II was the 21st Sultan of Kedah. His reign was from 1797 to 1803. He was appointed as second heir to his brother Abdullah Mukarram Shah and invested with the title of Raja Muda on 6 April 1760. He was appointed as Heir Presumptive and invested with the title of Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Perlis and Kedah, with the style of Duli Yang Maha Mulia, and granted Perlis, Kubang Pasu, Setul and Langu in fief, 1770. He succeeded on the death of his elder half-brother, 1 September 1797. He ceded Seberang Perai to the Honourable East India Company (HEIC) in return for an annual stipend on 7 July 1800. He concluded a treaty of friendship and alliance with the HEIC on 6 June 1800. He eventually was forced by the King of Siam to abdicate in favour of his nephew and made ruler of the province of Perlis (Kayangan) with the title of Raja Muda Kayang on September 1803.
