Sumathy Ram is an Indian independent film maker and Tamil-language poet. [1] Her directorial debut Vishwa Thulasi won the "Gold Special Jury Award - First Feature" at the 38th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival in 2005. [2]

Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Balu Mahendra. The film featured Dhanush and Priyamani, while Karunas and Delhi Ganesh played supporting roles. The music for the film was scored by Ilaiyaraaja, while Sai Suresh produced the venture. The film is a remake of the director's own Telugu film Nireekshana. It was remade in to Malayalam as Yathra. The film was released on 2 November 2005, coinciding with Diwali, and received a below average response commercially.

Yaan (transl. Me) is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written, directed and filmed by Ravi K. Chandran. It stars Jiiva and Thulasi Nair. This was the second and final Tamil film of leading actress, Thulasi as the latter further quoted of unable to enjoy the deeds of acting. As it never appealed to her taste. The film's soundtrack and score was composed by Harris Jayaraj, while editing and art direction were done by A. Sreekar Prasad and Sabu Cyril, respectively. Resul Pookutty was in charge of the sound mixing and Brinda was in charge of the choreography. The movie was reported to be based on the 1978 movie Midnight Express. It was dubbed in Hindi as Jaan Ki Baazi by Goldmines Telefilms in December 2016.

Thalaivaa (transl. Leader) is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by A. L. Vijay. It stars Vijay in the title role. The film, produced by Chandraprakash Jain, features background score and soundtrack composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar with cinematography and editing handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony respectively. The story revolves around a dancer who takes over his father's duty as a crime boss after his death. The film also stars with an ensemble supporting cast includes Ragini Nandwani, Amala Paul, Sathyaraj, Santhanam, Abhimanyu Singh and others.
