Summer Jamboree is an international music festival focused on the culture and music of the 1940s and 1950s. The summer event takes place in the city of Senigallia.
The event, which has taken place every year since 2000, is planned and organized by the culture association Summer Jamboree and is promoted with the support of the municipality of Senigallia. The festival usually starts on the last weekend of July and lasts a week. It involves the entire city: cafes, squares and other public places (Piazza del Duca, the Rotonda). The name is translated as "party gathering" or "good times"; the origin of the English word jamboree is unknown.
The first edition, in 2000, lasted only one day with the performance of four musical groups. The following year saw a larger program. In 2002 the festival started receiving media attention and became better known across Italy. The 2003 edition established the Summer Jamboree among the top three events of its kind in Italy. In 2005 the festival attracted around 100,000 people during the seven days of the event and the three days of the prefestival; the final evening was attended by 40,000 people. The 2015 edition, during the 10 days of the event, counted about 400,000 admissions, [1] while the 2017 edition lasted twelve days and recorded an attendance of 420,000. [2] The presence of 400,000 spectators in the 2018 edition confirmed the popularity of the event. [3]
During the seven days of the festival, there are a lot of live concerts and DJ sets with swing, rock and roll, jive, doo-wop, rhythm and blues, hillbilly and western swing. There are dance lessons too. Among the artists who performed at the festival there were Billy Lee Riley (US), Big Jay Mac Neely (US), Sid & Billy King (US), Huelyn Duvall (US), Charlie Gracie (US), Ray Campi (US), Pep Torres (US), Wee Willie Harris (UK), Danny & The Juniors (US), Barrence Whitfield (US), Bill Haley's Original Comets (US), Good Fellas (ITA), Hormonauts (ITA/SCO), Jimmy Cavallo (US) and Stray Cats (USA).

Senigallia is a comune (municipality) and port town on Italy's Adriatic coast. It is situated in the province of Ancona, in the Italian region of Marche, and lies approximately 30 kilometers north-west of the provincial capital city Ancona. Senigallia's small port is located at the mouth of the River Misa. Ladyvette is a 1950s style Italian music band. It is formed by three actresses and singers: Sugar, Pepper and Honey. Teresa Federico is also the author of all the original songs’ lyrics and of some of the scores together with Roberto Gori., who is responsible for arrangements and original compositions. Roberto Gori is a pianist and composer, winner of the “Disco D’oro” award in 1996 and the “Nino Rota” award in 2016. Since the very beginning Ladyvette are accompanied, in addition to Roberto Gori at the piano, by Riccardo Colasante (drums), Alberto Antonucci (doublebass) and Gian Piero Lo Piccolo. Ladyvette is a swing band who combines vocal activities with comedy, both in original and in reinterpreted songs, and in their sketches.
Federicus is a festival event that takes place every year in the historic city centre of Altamura, Italy. Its name is derived from the Latin name of king Frederick II, who founded the city of Altamura and by which the event is inspired. Among other things, parades re-enact the visit of Frederick II to the city of Altamura. The event usually takes place in the second half of April, and it normally lasts three days.
Etna Comics – International Festival of Comics, Games and Pop Culture is an annual convention held in Catania, Sicily at the beginning of June. The venue is The Ciminiere convention center. As its name suggests, the festival focuses on comics, cartoons, gaming and pop culture in general. The name Etna Comics refers to Mount Etna, the volcano rising behind the city of Catania. With its 100,000 visitors it is one of the largest comic festivals in Italy, especially in the South.
Al Ard Film Festival is an international film festival aimed at popularising Palestinian and Arab culture and art. The festival takes place in Cagliari (Sardinia) once a year and has been organised since 2002 by the Associazione Amicizia Sardegna Palestina, a volunteering organisation founded in 1997 in the Mediterranean island.
