The Nationalist Congress Party is one of the state parties in India. It refers to the Ajit Pawar faction after the 2023 split in the party when the SC granted the original party name and symbol to the Nationalist Congress Party. It was one of the major political parties in Maharashtra and was a recognised state party in Nagaland and Kerala. In July 2023, majority of the elected MLAs and MLCs of the party led by Ajit Pawar joined the National Democratic Alliance government, however, all MPs except two are expected to remain loyal to Sharad Pawar. This caused a direct split between the Ajit Pawar-led faction and the founder and president Sharad Pawar who formed the Nationalist Congress Party after EC recognised the Ajit Pawar faction as the original party.

Sunil Panjabrao Deshmukh is the Member of Legislative Assembly from the constituency of Amravati, Maharashtra, India. He is a member of Indian National Congress (INC). In 2009, he was expelled from the Indian National Congress due to his rebellion in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha election, 2009 when he was denied a ticket to contest the election from his Amravati constituency in order to accommodate Mr. Raosaheb Shekhawat, the son of then President of India, Pratibha Patil. He was also the Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Public Works and Energy in the cabinet of the Government of Maharashtra (2004-2009). He was also the guardian minister for Amravati and Bhandara Districts of Vidarbha, Maharashtra from 2004-2009. Additionally, he also served as the ex-officio Vice-Chairman of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board's holding company and as the co-chairman of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd.
Maval Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra state in western India. This constituency was created on 19 February 2008 as a part of the implementation of the presidential notification based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted on 12 July 2002. Apart from government,political families also control cooperative institutions, mainly cooperative sugar factories,district cooperative banks in the state, and since the 1980s private for profit colleges. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party also features several senior leaders who are dynasts. In Maharashtra, the NCP has particularly high level of dynasticism.
Laxman Pandurang Jagtap was an Indian politician from Chinchwad in the city of Pune. He was elected as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Chinchwad for 2009 – 2014 as an independent candidate. He was the M.L.A. of Chinchwad.

Rahul Narwekar is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is the current speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Narwekar was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council in June 2016 as a Governor's Nominated member. Previously, he was a member of the Shiv Sena party, but as the party denied him a ticket in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he joined the Nationalist Congress Party and unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election on the party's ticket from the Maval constituency. Rahul is the sitting MLA from Colaba in Mumbai on a Bhartiya Janata Party ticket. He is Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on 3 July 2022 and he is the second-youngest person to be elected speaker of any state in the country, the youngest being Shivraj Patil. In May 2023, he completed a 4-day UK tour speaking at the Ideas for India Conference organised by Bridge India in London, and speaking with students at Cambridge University. His tour attracted media attention because of its proximity to the Supreme Court judgement on the disqualification of 16 MLAs of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
Sunil Dattatray Rane is an Indian politician who is a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Borivali assembly constituency. Rane is the son of former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Datta Rane. In the last election, Rane won the Borivali seat by 95,021 votes. He defeated Kumar Khillare of Congress.

He was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Pune Cantonment in the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election as a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. He has previously served as Corporator in the Pune Municipal Corporation since 1992 - incumbent. He is known for his social work and direct approach. Coming from an extremely poor background, he emerged as a mass leader at a very young age. He began his social life as a young activist in ABVP. He played a pivotal role from the BJP side in campaigning and contacting on booth level in elections to the Balurghat Assembly constituency in West Bengal 2021 elections. Shri. Kamble currently is also a member of the legislative committee on Schedule Castes in the Maharashtra Legislature.
Ramesh Kashiram Karad, commonly known as Ramesh Appa Karad, is an Indian politician from Maharashtra state and a member of Maharashtra Legislative Council from Bharatiya Janata Party and district president of Bharatiya Janata Party Latur.
