Sunred (short for Sun Race Engineering Development S.L.) is a Spanish-based auto racing team and constructor. They are best known for competing in the World Touring Car Championship.
While in the past Sunred had participated in GT races with the SEAT Cupra GT, in the WTCC they made their debut with another SEAT car at the start of the 2008 season, running Tom Coronel in a SEAT León TFSI for the full season. They also ran an additional car for the highest points-scorer in the WTCC-supporting SEAT León Eurocup at the previous weekend. One of these drivers in 2008 was Tom Boardman, who in 2009 Sunred signed to drive full-time alongside Coronel in their WTCC team.
In 2010, they ran the SEAT factory supported SR-Sport team, with ex-SEAT drivers Gabriele Tarquini, Tiago Monteiro and Jordi Gené driving León TDIs alongside Coronel. They also ran two TDIs under the Sunred banner for rookies Michel Nykjær and Fredy Barth.
In 2012, Sunred was announced to field Ford GTs in the FIA GT1 World Championship. [1]
They also run cars in the SEAT León Eurocup and Spanish equivalent, the León Supercopa.
Sunred also build and run the SunRed SR21 in the International GT Open and Spanish GT Championship.
The SEAT León, also spelled Leon in some other languages, is a small family car built by the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT since October 1999.
Tiago Vagaroso da Costa Monteiro is a Portuguese professional racing driver currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup, driving a Honda Civic TCR for Engstler Motorsport. He competed in Formula One between 2005 and 2006 for the Jordan Grand Prix, Midland and Spyker MF1 teams – all different iterations of the same team as it was bought by new owners during a two-year stint as part of the Formula One paddock. He is the only Portuguese driver to have scored a Formula One podium finish, during the controversial 2005 United States Grand Prix.
Jordi Gené Guerrero is a racing driver who competed in the World Touring Car Championship between 2005 and 2010. His younger brother, Marc is also an ex-racing driver and is currently a Brand Ambassador for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team.
Tom Boardman is a British auto racing driver. His greatest achievement to date is winning the 2005 SEAT Cupra Championship for the Triple R team which he runs with father, John, who was previously a rallycross driver in the 1970s. He competed in the World Touring Car Championship on and off between 2008 and 2013.
The 2009 World Touring Car Championship season was the sixth FIA World Touring Car Championship season, the fifth since its 2005 return. It began on 8 March, and ended on 22 November, after twenty-four races. The championship, which was reserved for Super 2000 Cars and Diesel 2000 Cars, comprised two titles, the FIA World Touring Car Champion for Drivers and the FIA World Touring Car Champion for Manufacturers.
Cupra Racing, formerly known as SEAT Sport, is the high-performance motorsport subsidiary of the Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT, founded in 1985, succeeding the "SEAT Special Vehicles department" which had been formed in 1971 with the mission to enforce the brand's participation in rally championships, followed by 11 titles between 1979 and 1983. In 2018, SEAT created the Cupra brand as its independent high-performance branch and SEAT Sport was officially replaced by Cupra Racing.
Michel Nykjær is a Danish auto racing driver. Nykjær is a two-time European Touring Car Cup winner.
Norbert Michelisz is a Hungarian auto racing driver and the 2019 winner of the World Touring Car Cup.
The 2010 World Touring Car Championship season was the seventh season of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, and the sixth since its 2005 return. It began with the Race of Brazil at Curitiba on 7 March and ended with the Guia Race of Macau at the Guia Circuit on 21 November, after twenty-two races at eleven events. The championship was open to both Super 2000 and Diesel 2000 cars.

It was held on 31 May 2009 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, near Valencia in Spain. The first race was won by Gabriele Tarquini for SEAT Sport and the second race was won by Augusto Farfus for BMW Team Germany.
The 2009 FIA WTCC Race of Germany was the ninth round of the 2009 World Touring Car Championship season, and the fifth running of the FIA WTCC Race of Germany. It was held on 6 September 2009 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben near Oschersleben, near Magdeburg in Germany. The races were won by BMW drivers Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus.
The 2009 FIA WTCC Race of Italy was the tenth round of the 2009 World Touring Car Championship season, and the fifth running of the FIA WTCC Race of Italy. It was held on 20 September 2009 at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari near Imola, in Italy. It was the first time the Race of Italy was held at the circuit, although it had previously held races in 2005 and 2008, under the Race of San Marino and Race of Europe titles respectively. The races were won by SEAT Sport drivers Gabriele Tarquini and Yvan Muller who both finished second to their teammate in the other races.
The SEAT León Supercopa was a one-make racing series, organised by SEAT Sport, the motorsport division of Spanish car manufacturer SEAT. It used a modified version of the SEAT León road car, and championships have been run in Spain, Germany, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Hungary.
The 2010 FIA WTCC Race of UK was the sixth round of the 2010 World Touring Car Championship season and the sixth running of the FIA WTCC Race of UK. It was held at Brands Hatch in Kent, England on 18 July 2010. The two races were won by Yvan Muller of Chevrolet RML and Andy Priaulx of BMW Team RBM.

Josep "Pepe" Oriola Vila is a Spanish racing driver. He became the youngest driver to race in the World Touring Car Championship when he competed in the 2011 season. Oriola is not only the youngest driver to start a WTCC race at the age of 16, he’s also the youngest to be on the podium and to have won a race. Feats he achieved in Brazil in 2011 and Morocco in 2013 respectively. His record of being the youngest driver ever to compete, score championship points and win a race in the prestigious WTCC remains to this day. In 2018 he competed in the World Touring Car Cup and finish 6th in a close title fight till the last rounds in Macau. In 2019 he switches from factory driver of CUPRA to Hyundai Motorsport. Oriola also won the 1st ever 24h race of only TCR Cars in Spa Francorchamps in 2019 with the team Red Camel-Jordans. He is part of the team Changan Ford in China Touring Car Championship CTCC where in 2019 won 3 races.
Aleksey Nikolayevich Dudukalo is a Russian auto racing driver. He raced in the World Touring Car Championship between 2011 and 2013.
The 2011 FIA WTCC Race of Brazil was the opening round of the 2011 World Touring Car Championship season and the sixth running of the FIA WTCC Race of Brazil. It was held at the Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba near Curitiba, Brazil on 20 March 2011. This was the first race for the new FIA 1.6T world engine formula.
The 2012 FIA WTCC Race of Italy was the opening round of the 2012 World Touring Car Championship season and the eighth running of the FIA WTCC Race of Italy. It was held on 11 March 2012 at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza, Italy. Lukoil Racing driver Gabriele Tarquini took pole position for the first race, with Zengő Motorsport's Norbert Michelisz on pole for the second race after the top ten qualifiers were reversed. Both races were won by Yvan Muller for Chevrolet.

It was held on 1 April 2012 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. Chevrolet driver Yvan Muller took pole position for the first race, with Wiechers-Sport's Stefano D'Aste on pole for the second race after the top ten qualifiers were reversed. Both races were won by Chevrolet with Muller winning race one and Alain Menu winning race two.
