Superman vs. Predator is an intercompany crossover pitting DC Comics icon Superman against the Predator creature first seen in the 1987 John McTiernan film Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In the time leading up to the Superman vs. Predator crossover, companies DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics had already established a healthy partnership, beginning with their first joint comic book series, 1991's Batman Versus Predator . This crossover was shortly followed by DC Comics pitting Superman against Dark Horse Comics characters Aliens, the same species from the science-fiction film series. The plan from both companies was to eventually have Superman and The Predator fight each other, which came to fruition in the year 2000.
A S.T.A.R. Labs expedition uncovers an ancient derelict spacecraft in the jungles of Central America. Superman investigates the ship and is afflicted by an alien virus causing his powers to fluctuate wildly. The group is captured by a band of mercenaries working for a clandestine scientist. He plans to use the alien technology to facilitate selective global genocide based on genetic sequencing, but is unaware of the arrival of the hunter from the galaxy known as the Predator. The latter considers Superman as a worthy opponent and begins stalking him while concurrently seeking to reclaim the stolen technology appropriated by the scientist. It's a race against time for Superman to save countless millions of lives.

Since the character of The Predator clashed with Superman, the alien hunter experienced other comic book crossovers. This included fighting the JLA in JLA versus Predator and when he shared the spotlight with the Aliens against the World's Finest in Superman and Batman versus Aliens and Predator . [1]

Amalgam Comics was a collaborative publishing imprint shared by DC Comics and Marvel Comics, in which the two comic book publishers merged their characters into new ones. These characters first appeared in a series of 12 one-shots which were published in April 1996 between Marvel Comics versus DC #3 and DC versus Marvel Comics #4, the last two issues of the DC vs. Marvel crossover event. A second set of 12 one-shots followed one year later in June 1997, but without the crossover event as a background. Superman/Aliens is an American comic book limited series about a battle between the superhero Superman and the aliens created by H. R. Giger, from the Alien film series. The writers use the plot device of Superman's powers temporarily diminishing-due to him being in a location with a distinct lack of yellow sunlight that his body requires to give him his powers-to make the Xenomorphs a believable threat to the Man of Steel.

Superman and Batman versus Aliens and Predator is a comic book co-published by DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics. It was written by Mark Schultz, with art by Ariel Olivetti. It is a crossover in which Superman and Batman have to battle both the Aliens and Predator. While both superheroes have had crossovers with the monsters individually, this was the first time they were with both at the same time. The two-part series was released on January 8 and then on February 14, 2007.
Mark Schultz is an American writer and illustrator of books and comics. His most widely recognized work is the creator-owned comic book series Xenozoic Tales, which describes a post-apocalyptic world where dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures coexist with humans. In 1993, Xenozoic Tales was adapted into an animated series titled Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and a video game of the same name. Schultz's other notable works include various Aliens comic book mini-series published by Dark Horse and a four-year run on the DC Comics series Superman: The Man of Steel. In 2004, Schultz took over the scripting duties of the Prince Valiant comic strip.
