Suraj Gowda (born 13 April 1988) [1] is an actor in the Kannada film industry [2] who made his big commercial debut in MaduveyaMamatheya Kareyole under Thoogudeepa productions which bagged the biggest opening collection for a debutant in 2016. [3] Suraj was nominated for the best actor category in SIIMA and IIFA Awards for his role in the movie Siliconn City (2017). Lakshmi Thanaya and Ninna Sanihake are his upcoming films. [4]

Early life and career

Born to M A Prakash and Surekha V in Mysore Karnataka India, Suraj Gowda is a model-turned actor who started his career in the film industry after winning Zee Kannada's reality show Paradeshadalli Paradata in 2011. This multi-talented prodigy is also the winner of Mr. Mysore and Mr. Karnataka titles in 2009 and 2013 respectively. Suraj debuted his film career with the art film Yenanthiya and with Ninna Sanihake, he is foraying into script writing and direction. [3] [6] [7]

Singanalluru Puttaswamaiah Muthuraj, better known by his stage name Dr. Rajkumar, was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Kannada cinema. Kannada cinema Kannada language film industry

Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film Sati Sulochana directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded South India Movietone in Bangalore.

Vishnuvardhan (actor) Indian actor (1950–2009)

Sampath Kumar, known by his stage name Vishnuvardhan, was an Indian actor predominantly in Kannada cinema. He is regarded as one of the popular cultural icon of Karnataka. Vishnuvardhan is often referred to as Sahasa Simha and The Angry Young Man of Kannada Cinema. He appeared in more than 220 films all together in Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. He was called The Phoenix of Indian Cinema. He made his debut in the 1972 National Award winning film, Vamsha Vriksha, in a supporting role. The same year he played the lead role in Puttanna Kanagal's Naagarahaavu which was his breakthrough and he had won Filmfare Special Jury Award. He won Karnataka State Film Awards & Filmfare Awards South for best performance.

Karanth's theatre group Rangayana, from 1988 to 1999. He made his debut in films in 1995 with Suggi, which got shelved.

Shruthi Chandrasena, known professionally as Hariprriya, is an Indian actress and model who chiefly works in Kannada films, in addition to a few Tamil and Telugu films. B. Vijaya Reddy, better known as Vijay Reddy or Vijay, was an Indian film director who worked primarily in Kannada cinema with over 50 movies to his credit. His debut directorial venture was Rangamahal Rahasya (1970). He was known for his collaborations with leading Kannada actor Rajkumar for movies like Gandhada Gudi (1973), Mayura (1975), Naa Ninna Mareyalare (1976) and Sanaadi Appanna (1977) which are considered among the classic movies of Kannada cinema.

Ramkumar Indian actor and film producer

Ramkumar is an Indian actor and film producer known for his work in Kannada cinema. He made his acting debut in Peraala's 1990 action film Aavesha. The same year, he played a brief role in Rajendra Singh Babu's war film Muthina Haara (1990). He turned producer for the film Pandavaru (2006), in which he acted as well. With his good looks, he was considered one of the "Chocolate heroes" of the 1990s and his acting skills were well appreciated. As of 2013, Ram kumar has acted in over 40 Kannada feature films.

Anjada Gandu is a 2014 Indian Kannada romantic comedy film directed by Pradeep Raj, and starring Sathish Ninasam and debutant actress Subiksha in lead roles.
