The Indian National Congress (INC),colloquially the Congress Party but often simply the Congress,is a political party in India with widespread roots. Founded in 1885,it was the first modern nationalist movement to emerge in the British Empire in Asia and Africa. From the late 19th century,and especially after 1920,under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi,the Congress became the principal leader of the Indian independence movement. The Congress led India to independence from the United Kingdom,and significantly influenced other anti-colonial nationalist movements in the British Empire. Due to its enduring history,the Congress is often called the "grand old party".
LalKrishna Advani;born 8 November 1927,is an Indian politician who served as the 7th Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004. Advani is one of the co-founders and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a longtime member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh,a volunteer organisation. He also served as Minister of Home Affairs in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government from 1998 to 2004. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the 10th Lok Sabha and 14th Lok Sabha and also the longest serving person of this post. He is widely considered architect of hindutva politics and was power centre of BJP in 1990s.He was prime ministerial candidate of BJP in 2009. He is currently amongst the few living individuals who have witnessed the Indian freedom struggle.
The All India Forward Bloc is a left-wing nationalist political party in India. It emerged as a faction within the Indian National Congress in 1939,led by Subhas Chandra Bose. The party re-established as an independent political party after the independence of India. It has its main stronghold in West Bengal. The party's current Secretary-General is Debabrata Biswas. Veteran Indian politicians Sarat Chandra Bose and Chitta Basu had been the stalwarts of the party in independent India.

The All India Trinamool Congress,colloquially the Trinamool Congress is an Indian political party which is predominantly active in West Bengal. The party is led by Mamata Banerjee,the current Chief Minister of West Bengal,who has led the state since 2011. It is currently the third largest party in Parliament with 23 members in Lok Sabha and 13 members in Rajya Sabha and 235 MLAs in State legislative assemblies of India,just after BJP and INC. Indian National Congress-led United Progressive Alliance won 62 more seats than previous 13th Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha is the lower house in the Parliament of India. 8 sitting members from Rajya Sabha,the Upper House of Indian Parliament,were elected to 14th Lok Sabha after the 2004 Indian general election.

Sanjaya Sinh is an Indian politician and a former member of the Rajya Sabha. He was twice elected to the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh during the 1980s and held state ministerial posts. In 1990,he became a member of the upper house of the Parliament of India,which is known as the Rajya Sabha,and in 1998 he was elected to the lower house,called the Lok Sabha. His term in the 12th Lok Sabha session lasted until the following year. Subsequently,in 2009,he was successful in obtaining a second term in that house as a member of the 15th Lok Sabha representing the Sultanpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh. He represented the state of Assam in the Rajya Sabha. He resigned from Rajya Sabha and Indian National Congress to join Bharatiya Janata Party on 30 July 2019.
Elections in the state of Bihar,India are conducted in accordance with the Constitution of India. The Assembly of Bihar creates laws regarding the conduct of local body elections unilaterally while any changes by the state legislature to the conduct of state level elections need to be approved by the Parliament of India.
Ratanjit Pratap Narain Singh,is an Indian politician and former Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was the Member of Parliament for Kushinagar constituency in the fifteenth Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014. In the 2014 General Election,despite an increase in his own votes,he was defeated by Rajesh Pandey (BJP). He lost again in 2019. In September 2020,Singh was chosen for AICC in charge of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

The All People's Party or Sarbadal was a political party in Assam,northeast India. The party was founded in Dibrugarh by Ahom elites on May 8,1945. It united different groups that sought to challenge the Indian National Congress in elections. The All India Muslim League,the Tribal League and the Ahom Sabha took part in the founding of the party. The party sought to mobilise the Kachari,Muttock and Deuri communities,to compete against caste Hindus for political influence. To a large extent,the party represented tea garden labourers. During its initial period,the party demanded that the British colonial government should create a separate Ahom constituency. The party cooperated with the Muslim League,being united in their opposition against the Congress party.
Drupad Borgohain was an Indian politician. He was a veteran leader of the left-wing in the Assam state. As of 2014 he was the secretary of the Assam State Council of the Communist Party of India (CPI),a position he held since 1987. As of 2010 he served as president of Assam state council of All India Kisan Sabha.
General elections were held in India in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to elect the members of the 17th Lok Sabha. Votes were counted and the result was declared on 23 May. Around 912 million people were eligible to vote,and voter turnout was over 67 percent –the highest ever,as well as the highest ever participation by women voters.

Ramananda Das (1913-1972) was an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha,lower house of the Parliament of India from Barrackpore,West Bengal as a member of the Indian National Congress. He was a social worker and trade union leader. He represented India in ILO Conferences,at San Francisco in 1948 and at Geneva in 1951.
Pandit Lakshmi Kanta Maitra was an Indian politician. He was a Member of Parliament,representing Nabadwip,West Bengal in the Lok Sabha the lower house of India's Parliament as a member of the Indian National Congress. He was also a member of the Constituent Assembly of India.
