The album reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, lower than their previous five studio albums which had all reached the top three. It yielded five singles which all reached the UK top 20—all but one of which charted inside the top 10.

The Daou were a New York-based dance music quintet composed of Peter Daou (keyboards), Vanessa Daou (vocals), Mike Caro (guitar), Leon Dorsey (bass), and former 24-7 Spyz member Anthony Johnson (drums). Their only album Head Music was released in 1992, with its debut single "Surrender Yourself" rising to number one on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart, where it remained for 11 weeks.

The song scored a massive jump on the Hot 100 during its second week, leaping from number 58 to number 9 after promotion on the iTunes Store. The music video for "Blow Me " features a black and white picture and was directed by longtime collaborator Dave Meyers who directed almost half of her career's 33 videos. It premiered on July 26, 2012 on MTV and VEVO.
