Surrey Cricket Board

The Surrey Cricket Board is the governing body for all recreational cricket in the historic county of Surrey.

From 1999 to 2003 the Board fielded a team in the English domestic one-day tournament, matches which had List-A status. [1]

Christopher Keith Bullen is a former English cricketer. Bullen was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm off break. He was born in Clapham, London and educated at Rutlish School which he attended from 1976 to 1982. An all-rounder, Bullen played for Surrey County Cricket Club, Bedfordshire County Cricket Club and the Surrey Cricket Board in a career which spanned from 1982 to 2002.

Thomas Kevin Curran, is an English cricketer who represents England in Test matches, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals. He plays for Surrey County Cricket Club in English domestic cricket. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowling all - rounder. He made his international debut for England in June 2017. He is the son of former Zimbabwe international cricketer Kevin Curran, and the brother of both Northamptonshire CCC batsman Ben Curran and England and Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran.

Samuel Matthew Curran is an English cricketer who plays for England in all formats. In domestic cricket, he represents Surrey, and has played in multiple Twenty20 leagues, including for Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. On 23 December 2022, he was the subject of the highest bid in the history of Indian Premier League, when he was bought for £1.85 million by Punjab Kings.

Surrey Village Cricket Ground in Maggona, Sri Lanka, has staged first-class, List A and other cricket matches since it was opened in 2011.

The Surrey Stars were an English women's Twenty20 cricket team based in South London that competed in the English women's Twenty20 competition, the Women's Cricket Super League. The Stars played their home matches at The Oval and Woodbridge Road, Guildford. They were captained by Nat Sciver and coached by Richard Bedbrook, working with Surrey’s Director of Women’s Cricket Ebony Rainford-Brent. The Stars won the 2018 Women's Cricket Super League, beating Loughborough Lightning in the final at the County Cricket Ground, Hove. In 2020, following reforms to the structure of women's domestic cricket, some elements of the Surrey Stars were retained for a new team, the South East Stars.

Oliver John Douglas Pope is an English professional cricketer who plays for the England cricket team and Surrey County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batsman who occasionally plays as a wicket-keeper. He made his Test debut in 2018.

The 2017 Women's Cricket Super League, or 2017 Kia Super League for sponsorship reasons, was the second season of the Women's Cricket Super League (WCSL), a semi-professional women's cricket competition in England and Wales. The competition, run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), consisted of six franchise teams playing in a Twenty20 format. The Southern Vipers were the defending champions, but lost in the final to Western Storm.

The Afghanistan cricket team toured India in June 2018 to play a one-off Test match against the India cricket team. It was Afghanistan's first Test since they were awarded Test status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in June 2017. India won the match in two days by an innings and 262 runs. Afghanistan were dismissed twice in the same day, only the fourth time this has happened in Tests. It was India's biggest win by an innings in Tests, and they became the first Asian team to win a Test match inside two days.

Bryony Frances Smith is an English cricketer who plays for Surrey, South East Stars and Trent Rockets. A right-handed batter who bowls off spin, she made her county debut for Surrey in 2014. She has played three T20Is and one ODI for England, making her debut in 2018.

William George Jacks is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and off spin bowler. He made his Test debut against Pakistan in December 2022.

Sophia Ivy Rose Dunkley is an English cricketer who plays for the England women's cricket team, Surrey, South East Stars and Southern Brave. A right-handed batter and right-arm leg break bowler, she made her county debut in 2012 for Middlesex and her England debut in 2018, against Bangladesh at the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20. In 2020, she left Middlesex to join Surrey. In June 2021, Dunkley was awarded her first central contract with the England women's cricket team. In the same month, she made her Test debut, becoming the first black woman to play Test cricket for England.

The 2020 Bob Willis Trophy was a first-class cricket tournament held in the 2020 English cricket season, and the inaugural edition of the Bob Willis Trophy. It was separate from the County Championship, which was not held in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six, with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90, and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.

Danielle Lucy Gregory is an English cricketer who currently plays for Surrey, South East Stars and Oval Invincibles. She plays as a right-arm leg break bowler.

Alice Rose Capsey is an English cricketer who currently plays for Surrey, South East Stars, Oval Invincibles and Melbourne Stars. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler. In 2021, Capsey was voted the inaugural PCA Women's Young Player of the Year. Capsey made her international debut for the England women's cricket team in July 2022.

In English cricket, the years 1846–1863 were the main period of the sport's "roundarm era". Although roundarm had been legalised amid great controversy, its timespan was relatively short. By 1863, there was an increasing demand for the legalisation of overarm bowling and this was achieved on 10 June 1864.
