Susan Nsibirwa, is a Ugandan marketer and corporate executive who serves the Managing Director of Nation Media Group, since January 2024. [1] [2] She replaced Tonny Glencross, who had served in that role since 2019. [3]
Nsibirwa was born in Kampala, Uganda to John and Mrs Allen Nsibirwa. [4] She is a granddaughter to former Katikkiro of Buganda Martin Lurther Nsibirwa. She attended Aunt Clare Kindergarten Namirembe, Kitante Primary School for PLE, Nabisunsa Girls Secondary School for O-level and Gayaza High School for A-level. [5] After she was admitted to Makerere University, in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, where she graduated with a Bachelor in Mass Communication degree in 1987. Her second degree is a Master of Administration obtained from University of Nicosia, in Cyprus. [6]
Nsibirwa landed her first employment at the French Embassy in Kampala as a Press Attaché from August 1992 to December 1994. Afterward, she joined Scanad Uganda as a media manager from January 1995 to December 1997 before moving to Saatchi and Saatchi, where she served as a Regional Account Manager from January 1999 to March 2002. Following this, she took on the role of Advertising/Brand Manager at MTN Uganda from 2002 to 2005. [7]
Nsibirwa served as the Head of Retail and Marketing at Commercial Microfinance Limited from July 2005 to October 2006. [8] Nsibirwa transitioned to the banking sector and held the position of Head of Marketing at DFCU Bank from November 2006 to May 2010. Later served as a Managing Partner at Weaver Options from July 2010 to March 2011. [9]
She served as the Head of Marketing and Communications at Vision Group from February 2011 to February 2019. Notably, she assumed a role as the Chairman of the Uganda Media Owners Association (UMOA) from November 2016 to December 2018. [10] Nsibirwa became the Managing Partner at Urge Uganda from March 2019 to June 2022. [11] Previously, she held the position of managing director at Ayiva Consulting Solutions since June 2022 before taking on the role of as the managing director of Nation Media Group Uganda on December 22, 2023. [12]
Nsibirwa currently serves as a board member in various organizations, including the Uganda Marketers Society since 2020, The Innovation Village since October 2023, the African Centre for Media Excellence since March 2021 (Board Chair), Monitor Publications Ltd since May 2022, and Greenhill Academy Ltd since June 2021. In August 2024, Susan emerged 5th among Uganda’s 100 Leading and Most Admired CEOs. She was also a National Medal Recipient (Diamond Jubilee) on International Women’s Day 2020, an award handed over by President Yoweri Museveni. [15]

Patrick Bitature is a Ugandan businessman, entrepreneur and author. He is the second wealthiest Ugandan after Sudhir Ruparelia. He is the founder, chairman and Group CEO of the Simba Group of Companies which is primarily based in East Africa. The Simba Group of Companies started in 1998 with the flagship telecom business but has since grown to a conglomerate of East Africa-based companies spanning telecoms, properties, power generation, agro-business, mining, tourism and media. At the end of 2011, the group employed over 600 direct staff and 1,500 indirect staff.
Mary Busingye Karoro Okurut, more commonly known as Mary Karoro Okurut, is a Ugandan educator, author and politician. She is the former Cabinet Minister in Charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. Prior to that, from 1 March 2015 until 6 June 2016, she served as Cabinet Minister for National Security. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Wilson Muruli Mukasa, who was appointed Minister of Gender and Social Issues. Between 2012 and 2015, she served as the Minister of Gender and Social Issues in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position in 2012. She replaced Syda Bumba, who resigned from Cabinet. Mary Karoro Okurut also serves as the elected Member of Parliament for Bushenyi District Women's Constituency. In the 2020 National resistance movement NRM party flag bearer elections, Karooro lost to Annet Katusiime Mugisha who was elected Bushenyi district woman member of parliament in the 2021 Uganda presidential and parliamentary elections.

She is the first City Leader in Residence at Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative at the Ash Center of the Harvard Kennedy School, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. She was appointed to this position in January 2019.
MTN Uganda is the largest telecom company in Uganda, with 11.2 million subscribers, accounting for 55 percent market share, as of 30 June 2017. By 31 December 2019, its customer base had increased to 12.6 million customers. Anita Annet Among is a Ugandan accountant, lawyer and politician who is the Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda since 2022. She also concurrently serves as the elected member of parliament for the Bukedea District Women Constituency, the same position she held in the 10th Parliament (2016–2021). She was in FDC party before she joined the ruling NRM where she was voted as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Parliament. She is named in the torture complaint against the Ugandan government that was submitted with the International Criminal Court.

Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso, is a Ugandan military officer, who served as an elected member of parliament representing the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) in the 10th Parliament (2016–2021). On 1 August 2020, she was appointed Spokesperson of the UPDF, replacing Brigadier Richard Karemire, who was transferred to the East African Community headquarters as the Defence Liaison Officer. In January 2022 she was dropped as UPDF spokesperson and sent for further training at the Uganda National Defence College.
