Career

Sushama Sarkar studied in Jahangirnagar University. She appeared in TV dramas like "Progga Paromita", "Bijli", "Dhonni Meye" etc. In 2016, she was cast in Indo-Bangladesh joint venture film Badsha – The Don which stars Jeet and Nusrat Faria. [1]

Apart from films and television, she has acted in a number of stage dramas as well. She started with stage dramas 'Janame Janmantare' in 1999. In January 2018 it was confirmed that she'll return to stage dramas with 'Nityopuran' as Draupadi, which is written by Masum Reza. The role was earlier played by seniors like Banya Mirza and Naznin Hasan Chumki. [2]

Badsha – The Don is a 2016 Indian-Bangladeshi action comedy film directed by Baba Yadav. It was produced by Eskay Movies and Jaaz Multimedia. It is a remake of the 2010 Telugu movie Don Seenu starring Ravi Teja. The film stars Indian Bengali film actor Jeet and Bangladeshi television host and film actress Nusrat Faria. Badsha - The Don is the third collaboration between Baba Yadav and Jeet after Boss: Born to Rule (2013) and Game (2014). Badsha - The Don was a flop at the box office.

Mahbub Ahmed Sadek was a Bangladeshi film actor. He also appeared in television dramas and theatre. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor in Negative Role for the film Ekti Cinemar Golpo (2018).

Masum Babul was a Bangladeshi film dance director and choreographer. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Choreography twice, for the film Dola (1993) and Ki Jadu Karila (2008). He is also best known for the films Beder Meye Josna (1989), Koti Takar Kabin (2006), and Bikkhov (1994). Babul died on 6 March 2023, at age 60.

<i>The Grave</i> (2020 film) 2020 film

The Grave is a Bangladeshi English language drama film written and directed by Gazi Rakayet. It is a Bangladesh Government and Impress Telefilm funded joint venture film, based on a journey of an undertaker. It features Gazi Rakayet himself in the titular role, Dilara Zaman, Deepanwita Martin, Moushumi Hamid, Sushoma Sarkar, and Shamima Tusty among others. SM Mohsin and Mamunur Rashid also make guest appearances in the film. The film was simultaneously shot in Bengali, titled Gor respectively. The film is coined as Bangladesh's first bilingual film project. The Grave is initially released in Bangladesh on 25 December 2020, and later on Hollywood as the first Bangladeshi-produced film. The film was also submitted to compete in the general category of the 94th Academy Awards; as it is the first Bangladeshi film to be competing in this category. The film was added to the 2022 Oscar Reminder List. The film bagged 11 National film awards of Bangladesh.
