Susie Tallman is an American singer and recording artist known for recording children's music.

Education

Tallman graduated UCLA with a B.A. in voice performance. Tallman then spent several years in Europe, singing with a number of choirs in Paris. She returned to the US and trained at the New England Conservatory Workshop in Boston.

Career

Before founding her children's music record label, Rock Me Baby Records, Tallman sang backup for a number of other artists, including Cheap Trick and Ronnie Spector. Tallman worked with the critically acclaimed record producer Jimmy Iovine as his production manager.  Susie worked with Tracy Chapman, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Tom Jones, Ron Sexsmith, A Very Special Christmas Albums, Gerardo, Robin Zander of Cheap Trick, David Foster's Christmas Album and many other projects.[ citation needed ]

Tallman's recent albums are mostly adaptations of works for children's sensibilities. Her album, Children's Songs: A Collection of Childhood Favorites, for example, consists of 38 traditional folk songs and nursery rhymes adapted into short tunes. [1] Tallman has released 10 albums for children and one DVD, which has aired on PBS Kids around the U.S. The releases are as follows: Lullaby Themes for Sleepy Dreams, Lullabies for Sleepy Eyes, Classical Baby, Children's Songs; A Collection of Childhood Favorites, Classic Nursery Rhymes, Let's Go; Travel, Camp & Car Songs, Animal Songs, A Child's Christmas; Holidays Songs & Carols, Spanish Songs for Children Learning Spanish and Who Stole the Moon; songs to accompany the children's book.

Awards

Tallman's first CD, Lullaby Themes for Sleepy Dreams has sold over 50,000 copies, and won a Gold Award (music) from the Parents' Choice Foundation in 2001. All of her albums have won awards including Parents' Choice Gold, Silver (Spanish Songs-Gold, Children's Songs-Gold, Nursery Rhymes-Silver, Let's Go-Silver) and Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum & Gold Awards for Nursery Rhymes, Children's Songs, Let's Go!, Lullabies for Sleepy Eyes. Susie's Spanish Songs CD won the New Mexico Music Awards Best Children's Song in 2020.

Justin Roberts is a Chicago-based American singer-songwriter of children's music. He performs with the Not Ready for Naptime Players. In 2010, his album Jungle Gym was nominated in the "Best Musical Album for Children" category for the 53rd Grammy Awards, Recess was nominated in the same Grammy category in 2013, for the 56th Grammy Awards, and "Lemonade" was nominated in 2017 for the 60th Grammy Awards. Rockabye Baby! is a series of CDs geared toward infants and newborns, containing instrumental lullaby versions of popular rock bands including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. Pinkfong is the children's educational brand of SmartStudy, a South Korean educational entertainment company. Pinkfong consists of mainly children's songs, of which the most famous is "Baby Shark"; and its dance video quickly became the most-viewed Youtube video. Their educational channel has a brightly-colored programming of stories, sing-along songs and dances represented by a pink fox named "Pinkfong". The global product development company has more than 4,000 children's videos, songs, games and apps.
