Her first break in television was with Jaya TV as a VJ: she hosted the show Thagaval Dot Com in Kalai Malar. Her first serial was Khakki. She has played a variety of roles, ranging from an auto driver in the serial Thendral to an IT project manager in Office. She won 4th place in a cooking reality show Kitchen SuperStar of Star Vijay. She was also a finalist of the show 60 Nodi, Are you ready?.[ citation needed ]

Mynaa is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed and written by Prabu Solomon. Jointly distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin and Kalpathi S. Aghoram, it stars Vidharth, Amala Paul and Thambi Ramaiah. Featuring an acclaimed soundtrack by D. Imman, the film, which garnered much anticipation prior to release, released on 5 November 2010, coinciding with the Diwali festival, receiving critical acclaim and going on to win the Best Film Award at the 58th Filmfare Awards South. Actor Thambi Ramaiah went on to win the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2011. Mynaa became a major success and ended as a blockbuster among 2010 Deepavali releases and was released along with Dhanush's Uthamaputhiran. Myna is a 2013 Indian Kannada language romance drama film written and directed by Nagashekar. Based on a real-life incident, the film was produced by N. S. Rajkumar for Vajreshwari Combines. Chetan Kumar and Nithya Menen played the lead roles. Jassie Gift is the music director for the film. The film won Filmfare Award for Best Film – Kannada. The film is currently being remade in Hindi.
