Sverige is a Swedish 12 Metre class yacht. It was by designed by Pelle Petterson and built by Enoch & Elfstedt. [1]

Sverige competed in the 1977 Herbert Pell Cup and the 1980 Herbert Pell Cup, helmed by Pelle Petterson. Both times it was beaten by Australia .

The Louis Vuitton Cup was the name of the Challenger Selection Series sailing competition from 1983, named after its sponsor, Louis Vuitton. The winner of the competition became the challenger to compete with the defender of the America's Cup. The competition for the 2017 America's Cup changed format and name to the Louis Vuitton Challenger’s Trophy. The following series, in 2021, was named the Prada Cup after its new sponsor. Five out of the nine winners of the Louis Vuitton Cup competitions subsequently won the America's Cup itself.

Pelle Petterson Swedish sailor

Pelle Helmer Petterson is a Swedish sailor and yacht designer. He is the son of Helmer Petterson and Norwegian-born Borgny Petterson, and studied design at the leading Pratt Institute in New York from 1955 through 1957. He is probably best known for designing the Maxi brand of sailing boats, which are still among the most common sailing boats in Swedish waters. He also designed Volvo's successful sports car, the P1800, while he was a student of Pietro Frua.
