Swanton High School is a public high school in Swanton, Ohio, USA. It is the only high school in the Swanton Local School District.

School details

In the 2002-2003 school year Swanton High moved into its new school building.

The school' provides for 9th to 12th grades. During the 2005-2006[ needs update ] school year, there were of 145 freshmen, 127 sophomores, 142 juniors and 127 seniors, totalling 541 students. 495 of those students were Caucasian, 9 were Black, 15 Hispanic and 6 of other races. The student-to-teacher ratio was 24.7.

Athletics

Swanton High School's mascot is the Bulldog. Its colors are purple and white. The school is a member of the Northwest Ohio Athletic League. The current[ when? ] athletic director is Wade Haselman.

Band

The Swanton High School marching band and concert band are members of class "C" in the Ohio Music Education Association. The band hosts a yearly marching band competition called "The Bulldog Bowl".[ citation needed ]

Scott was an entrepreneur, philanthropist and well-known civic leader who envisioned Toledo as the "Future Great City of the World." The current high school building was built in 1913. South High School is a public high school located on the south side of Columbus, Ohio. It was opened in 1900 as the fourth Columbus City Schools high school at 345 Deshler Avenue. The current building was opened March 31, 1924. The Charles S. Barrett Building at 345 E. Deshler Ave opened September 1900. Prior to that in 1895-1897 South High School utilized part of the Ohio Avenue Elementary School. In 1897 it was decided that the building was too far east for its name; the south side students were returned to the Central High School building at 6th & Broad Streets, and the building process began on the Deshler Street Building. Thomas A. DeVilbiss High School was a public high school in Toledo, Ohio from 1931 to June 1991. The Duneland Athletic Conference (DAC) is a high school athletic conference in Indiana serving eight members of the Indiana High School Athletic Association. Member schools are located in the counties of Lake, LaPorte, and Porter along Indiana's Lake Michigan shore. Each school is classified based on enrollment as 6A or 5A for football and 4A for basketball, the classes for the largest schools in Indiana. The Duneland Conference is also known for its gymnastics programs which have won a combined total of 35 state championship and state runner-up titles.

The Summit Athletic Conference, or SAC, is a high school athletic conference consisting of ten high schools located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Three of the schools are private; one being a Lutheran academy, and the other two being Catholic preparatories. The rest are public schools, being part of Fort Wayne Community Schools. Two limited members are part of Northwest Allen County Schools and Southwest Allen County Schools.
