Swathishta Krishnan known professionally as Swathishta is an Indian actress and who works predominantly in Tamil and Kannada language films. [1] She made her acting debut in a supporting role with 2018 Tamil film Savarakathi . [2] She also acted in the film Kee (2019) playing the role as Anu.

Career

After graduation, she acted in Madras Central's Web Series named Half Boil, released in 2017 along with Gopi and Sudhakar. In 2018, she made her debut in films specifically Tamil films and acted in the film Savarakathi alongside Ram and Shamna Kasim. In 2019, she also acted in the film Kee opposing actor Jiiva. She also acted in films such as Jada (2019) and Vikram (2022). [3] She also appeared in the Telugu music video Entha Baavundo in 2021. [4] She also hosted the show Compass Countdown on Puthuyugam TV. [5]

In 2023, director Suni roped in Swathishta for his Kannada film Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe. During an interview, Suni said “I was clear that I wanted a Kannadada hudugi, which has been my priority with all my films. I had watched Swathishta in Vikram and was impressed by how she carried her role. I was happy when I learned she was our own Uttara Karnataka hudugi. She matched our criteria, and we had her on board”. [6] Her character in the movie was well received by the audience and the critics had praised her performance. [7]

Ondu Premada Kathe is a 1977 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film written by B. R. Lakshman Rao and directed by S. M. Joe Simon. Rao plays Lakshmi, the headmistress of a village school; Maanu as her husband and teacher; and Ashok as Chandrashekhar Rao, an acquaintance of Lakshmi. Ondu Motteya Kathe is a 2017 Kannada-language romantic comedy film written and directed by debutant Raj B. Shetty who also appears in the lead role, along with Usha Bhandary, Shailashree, Prakash Tuminadu, Amrutha Naik, Shreya Anchan, Vj Vineeth, Rahul Amin, Deepak Rai Panaje and Ramdas playing supporting roles. The movie was released on 7 July 2017 to positive reviews. The Hindu called it the "Kannada film of the year". The film won the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Kannada. The budget of the film was estimated to be at 30 lakhs INR and the movie was a commercial success by collecting 2.5 crores

Raj B. Shetty is an Indian actor, director, and screenwriter who works in Kannada film industry. He gained recognition through his directorial debut, Ondu Motteya Kathe (2017), which was a huge commercial success. He further cemented it with Gubbi Mele Brahmastra (2019), Mayabazar 2016 (2020), and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (2021), which got widespread acclaim and is now considered to be one of the best films of Kannada cinema.

The film features Vinay Rajkumar, Mallika Singh, Swatishta Krishnan and Rajesh Nataranga in the lead roles. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Veer Samarth, while the cinematography is by Karthik Sharma and Sabha Kumar, with editing by Aadhi.
