Sunil Kumar known by his screen name SimpleSuni, is an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and lyricist who works in Kannada cinema. He made his debut with the critically and commercially successful 2013 film Simple Agi Ondh Love Story . [2]
Suni kick started his career with Janumada Gelathi , where he worked as an assistant director under Dinesh Baboo. Simultaneously working for Januma Janumadallu, under Prema, he later went on to become an associate director for Dinesh Baboo in School Master and other films. Subsequently, focus shifted to a few short films, but when he decided to go independent, what came his way was Simple Agi Ondh Love Story . When producers expected him to cut down budgets with each script, a few friends Pawan Sagar and Suni decided to go independent and invested their own money and made Simple Agi Ondh Love Story on a budget of approximately ₹30 to 40 lakhs.
He went on to produce the cult classic movie Ulidavaru Kandanthe. However, after its dismal performance at the box office, he returned to directing with Bahuparak. It was again in 2017 that he directed Operation Alamelamma starring debutant Rishi and Shraddha Srinath. [3] His next was with Golden star Ganesh and Rashmika titled Chamak which was an instant hit among audience for its quirky take on modern relationships. [4]
He then introduced Dhanveer Gowda in Bazaar which was a decent hit at the box office. He once again teamed with Ganesh for Sakath which was also a decent hit at the box office.
He then collaborated with Sharan and Ashika Rangnath for Avatara Purusha to be released in two parts under Pushkar Films banner. [5] Made under a considerably huge budget the movie opened to positive reviews but did not fetch the desired results at the box office. [6] With a small setback on the release of the Second installment of Avatara Purusha, he announced a couple of movies over the months, starting with Robinhood starring debutant Dushyanth which was later halted and Introduced Dushyanth with another movie Gathavaibhava alongside Ashika Rangnath. [7] [8] Then he announced Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe with Vinay Rajkumar, Mallika Singh and Swatishta Krishnan, with the latter two making Kannada Debut. [9] OSPK opened to positive reviews and was a commercially successful venture. [10] [11] He had his next release Avatara Purusha Part 2 within 2 months of his previous release and received mixed reviews at the box office. [12] [13]
His next in the sequence would be Gathavaibhava. He is also yet to start The Story of Raygada which is one of his most awaited work and marks his third collaboration with Ganesh.

Simple Agi Ondh Love Story is a 2013 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Suni, and stars Rakshit Shetty and Shwetha Srivatsav. The film was remade in Telugu in 2018 as Idi Naa Love Story.
Bahuparak is a 2014 Indian Kannada language drama film written, directed and co-produced by Simple Suni of Simple Agi Ondh Love Story fame. The movie was released in the month of July 2014. The film features Srinagar Kitty and Meghana Raj in the lead roles. This film marks the 25th venture for the actor Srinagar Kitty.
Rakshit Shetty is an Indian actor and filmmaker working predominantly in Kannada cinema. He is the recipient of one National Film Award, two Filmfare Awards South, two Karnataka State Film Awards and five SIIMA Awards. Operation Alamelamma is a 2017 Indian Kannada crime comedy thriller film directed by Simple Suni produced by Amrej Suryavanshi and Suni under production Starfab and Suni cinemas The film features Rishi, Shraddha Srinath and Rajesh Nataranga in the lead roles. The film's score and soundtrack is composed by Judah Sandhy whilst the cinematography is by Abhishek Kasargod and editing by Sachin.
Ondu Motteya Kathe is a 2017 Kannada-language romantic comedy film written and directed by debutant Raj B. Shetty who also appears in the lead role, along with Usha Bhandary, Shailashree, Prakash Tuminadu, Amrutha Naik, Shreya Anchan, Vj Vineeth, Rahul Amin, Deepak Rai Panaje and Ramdas playing supporting roles. The movie was released on 7 July 2017 to positive reviews. The Hindu called it the "Kannada film of the year". The film won the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Kannada. The budget of the film was estimated to be at 30 lakhs INR and the movie was a commercial success by collecting 2.5 crores

Chamak is a 2017 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Suni and produced by T. R. Chandrashekar. The film stars Ganesh as Kush, a gynaecologist and Rashmika Mandanna as Kushi, an MBA graduate event organizer. The soundtrack and score is by Judah Sandhy and the cinematography is by Santhosh Rai Pathaje.

Raambo 2 is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language action comedy drama film written and directed by Anil Kumar and produced by Atlanta Nagendra and Sharan. Featuring Sharan in the lead role, with Ashika Ranganath, Chikkanna, P. Ravishankar and Tabla Nani in the principal roles. Starting his career as a composer for the short film Simply Kailawesome in 2010, Bharath got his breakthrough in 2013 with the film Simple Agi Ondh Love Story.
