The Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SCC), founded in 1906, is an independent, nonprofit Swedish-British business organisation. The Chamber has around 400 member businesses, representing not only Swedish companies but also British and European companies interested in strengthening their existing ties with Sweden and the UK or expanding to new markets. The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK is the oldest and largest foreign Swedish Chamber in the world, and also one of the largest foreign Chambers in the UK. [1] [2]
In addition, a sub-organisation, the Young Professionals (YP), has approximately 200 individual Members, aged 25–35 with an interest in the Swedish-British business community. [3] [4]
The subject of a London Chamber was first discussed in early 1906, when a number of meetings regarding the arrangement of a Swedish exhibition, led to the establishment of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in London. The Board of Trade granted the Certificate of Incorporation and offices were hired at 136 Fenchurch Street. At the end of 1907 at least 189 members had been elected. [5]
The Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences is one of the Royal Academies in Sweden and was founded on 12 November 1796 by Gustaf Wilhelm af Tibell. The academy is an independent organization and a forum for military and defense studies as well as national security issues. Membership is limited to 160 chairs under the age of 62.
Leif Pagrotsky is a Swedish politician, economist, and diplomat. He served as Minister of Culture from 2004 to 2006 and Minister for Business and Industry from 2002 to 2004 under Prime Minister Göran Persson. After this, he held the position of Consul General of Sweden in New York City from 2016 to 2018.
The Moderate Youth League, officially known in English as the Swedish Young Conservatives, is the youth wing of the Swedish Moderate Party. Brynäs IF is a Swedish professional ice hockey team from Gävle. The club currently plays in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden, as of the 2023–24 season. The club played in the top-tier Swedish league from 1960 to 2023, a total of 63 seasons, longer than any other Swedish club, before suffering relegation for the first time in franchise history at the conclusion of the 2022–23 season. They have won the Swedish championship 13 times, second only to Djurgården with 16 wins.
Björn J:son Lindh was a Swedish flautist, pianist, music arranger, composer and artist. He worked in such diverse musical styles as jazz, classical, fusion, rock, prog rock and ethno. He composed for instance chamber music, symphonic works, concertos for various instruments and choirs as well as film scores for feature films and TV series in Scandinavia. J:son Lindh scored music for films such as Mannen på taket, directed by Bo Widerberg and Jägarna, directed by Kjell Sundvall.

Movitz blåste en konsert is epistle No. 51 in the Swedish poet and performer Carl Michael Bellman's 1790 song collection, Fredman's Epistles. The epistle is subtitled "Angående konserten på Tre Byttor", naming a restaurant in Stockholm's Djurgården park. It was written after Bellman had become a court musician to the new King Gustav III in 1773. The melody was borrowed from George Frideric Handel's 1718 opera, Acis and Galatea.
