Sweeny Murti

Srinivas (Sweeny) Murti (born 1970) is a sports journalist who primarily covers the New York Yankees. He currently works for WFAN, SportsNet New York, and the New York Yankees Radio Network. He is the Yankees beat reporter for both WFAN and SNY and hosts the pregame and postgame shows for Yankees radio broadcasts.

Early career

Sweeny Murti grew up in Middletown, Pennsylvania and is a graduate of John C. Kunkel Elementary School, Middletown Area Middle School, and Middletown (PA) Area High School and its student-run radio station, WMSS (91.1 FM). Murti was Sports Director from 1984–88, with duties including play-by-play for Middletown Blue Raider football and basketball.

Murti attended Pennsylvania State University from 1988–92, graduating with a degree in Communications. While there he worked for radio stations WRSC/WQWK mainly as an on-air sports and news anchor, also as a producer for Penn State football post game shows and as an occasional FM DJ.

In 1991, Murti served as an intern at WFAN-New York.

From 1992–93, Murti worked for WHP-Harrisburg, Radio Pennsylvania Network, and WGET-Gettysburg.

Murti returned to WFAN in 1993 as a full-time producer and later part-time sports anchor. In 1997, Murti moved to WIP-Philadelphia as a full-time sports anchor, returning to WFAN in 1998 as the overnight sports anchor.

Since 2001, Murti has covered the New York Yankees for WFAN and is also a regular contributor to SNY and MLB Network. He has also been seen frequently on WNBC-4 New York, WCBS-2 New York, and YES Network.

Murti also covered the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and 2000 Summer Olympic Games for Westwood One Radio Network.

Chris Carlin

Chris Carlin, is an American television and radio personality. Previously, Carlin was the co-host of Carlin & Reese on local Philadelphia sports radio station 94.1 WIP. Carlin joined the station in November 2016, after over 8 years on SportsNet New York, the New York Mets television network. He was the co-host of "CMB," with Bart Scott & Maggie Gray on WFAN in New York from 2018-19. Recently, he joined 98.7 ESPN Radio in New York, where he hosts "Carlin" daily from 7:00 - 10:00 PM.

Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, he graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1978, joining as an original co-host of the CNN show Sports Tonight in 1980. He received CableACE awards in 1989 and 1993, and was a New York Sports Emmy Award Winner in 2004.

SportsNet New York (SNY) is an American regional sports network owned by Sterling Entertainment Enterprises, LLC, itself a joint venture between the Fred Wilpon Sterling Equities, Charter Communications through its acquisition of Time Warner Cable in May 2016 and Comcast, through its NBC Sports Group subsidiary. Kimberly Alicia Jones is a New York City-based sports reporter. From 2005 to 2011, she was the clubhouse reporter for New York Yankees games on the YES Network. She currently works for the NFL Network and WFAN radio in New York City. Jones has been a resident of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, since she started covering the New York Giants.

The network's flagship station is WFAN, which succeeded sister station WCBS as the flagship in 2014; WCBS had aired Yankees broadcasts since the network was founded in 2002 while WFAN had been the flagship station for the Yankees' crosstown rivals, the New York Mets, since the station's founding. Jerry Recco is an American sports radio personality, serving as a morning anchor on Boomer and Gio program on sports radio station WFAN in New York City. He has been with the station since 1997. As of 2009, Recco also reports sports in the morning for WFAN's sister station all-news WINS. Born in Brooklyn and raised in New Jersey, Recco received a BA in Media Arts from Jersey City State College, after a 3-year stint at the now defunct Upsala College. Kevin Burkhardt is an American sportscaster. He is currently one of the play-by-play voices for Fox NFL, the Tampa Bay Rays on Fox Sports Sun and he was formerly a reporter with SportsNet New York (SNY), Burkhardt was the field reporter during New York Mets telecasts from 2007 to 2014. He also called select Mets games during both spring training and the regular season during that time. He has been the primary studio host for Major League Baseball (MLB) telecasts on Fox and Fox Sports 1 since the 2015 season. Kevin Burkhardt is best known for his part on the pre and postgame coverage for regular season, post-season, and All-Star games.
