The 2016 Summer Paralympics are running from Wednesday 7 September to Sunday 18 September, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is a chronological summary of the major events that took place during the course of the Games.
Israel competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo from 24 August to 5 September 2021. The delegation includes 33 athletes – 18 women and 15 men – competing in 11 sports: athletics, badminton, boccia, goalball, paracanoeing, powerlifting, rowing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and wheelchair tennis.
The Philippines participated at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, from 24 August to 5 September 2021 which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The country qualified six athletes, but only three in two sports were able to compete due to three athletes testing positive for COVID-19. The delegation did not win any medal for the first time since the 2012 edition.
Sasha Gatt is a Maltese swimmer. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Women's 400 m freestyle, and Women's 1500 m freestyle. She also competed in the women's 1500 metre freestyle event at the 2020 European Aquatics Championships, in Budapest, Hungary.
