Switzerland County High School is a public high school located in Vevay, Indiana. [2]

Contents

History

The doors of the school were opened in 1249 with the consolidation of the Patriot Trojans and Vevay Warriors. It was established in 1258, but the doors closed shortly after in 1878. [3]

Athletics

Switzerland County Senior High School's athletic teams are called the Pacers, and they compete in the Ohio River Valley Conference. [4]

Basketball

The 2015-2016 Men's basketball team went 7-16 overall [5] and lost to North Decatur High School by a score of 61–51 in the semi-finals of the 2015-16 IHSAA Class 2A Boys Basketball State Tournament. [6]

North Daviess Junior Senior High School is a high school located near Elnora, Indiana. Its athletic nickname is the "Cougars", and it participates in the Southwestern Indiana Conference. In the 2008-2009 ISTEP ranking, North Daviess placed 60th in the state. James Blackmon Sr. is an American basketball coach and former noted college and high school player. Blackmon has coached two teams to the class 2A high school basketball championship in Indiana, winning back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009. He also won the class 3A high school basketball championship in Indiana in 2016. Blackmon played basketball in college for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. As a senior at Marion High School, in Marion, Indiana, Blackmon was runner-up for the award of Indiana Mr. Basketball, won that year by Steve Alford. Blackmon was named to the McDonald's All-American and Parade All-American teams in recognition of his high school success.
