Syed Muhammad Agha Raza is a Pakistani politician who was a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan, from May 2013 to May 2018.
The Provincial Assembly of Balochistan is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the province of Balochistan, and is located in Quetta, the capital of the province. It was set up by Article 106 of the Constitution of the Pakistan. The Assembly has 51 directly elected Members of the Provincial Assembly, representing constituencies from each district, as well as 11 seats reserved for women and 3 for non-Muslims. Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan (MWM) is a Shiite political organisation in Pakistan participating in political activities in all over country, with headquarters in Islamabad. MWM Pakistan working with ideology to establish an Islamic democratic welfare state, particularly emphasising on Shiite-Sunni unity in the country.
General elections were held in Pakistan on 11 May 2013 to elect the members of the 14th National Assembly and to the four provincial assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Elections were held in all four provinces, Islamabad's federal capital territory and in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The remaining two territories of Pakistan, the Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, were ineligible to vote due to their disputed status. Allegations on systematic vote rigging, favouritism, and ethnicity trends on political parties marred with controversy regarding the nationwide elections; this eventually led to anti-government march that called for electoral reforms in 2014.
In January 2018, he was inducted into the provincial Balochistan cabinet of Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and was made Provincial Minister of Balochistan for Law and parliamentary affairs with the additional ministerial portfolios of prosecution, forest and wildlife, [4] and Livestock and Dairy Development.
