Sylvain Guy is a Canadian screenwriter and film director from Quebec. He is most noted for the 2004 film Machine Gun Molly (Monica la mitraille), for which he and Luc Dionne won the Genie Award for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 25th Genie Awards in 2005. [1] He was also previously nominated in the same category for Black List (Liste noire) at the 16th Genie Awards in 1996, [2] and subsequently at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022 for Confessions of a Hitman (Confessions). [3]

His first film as a director, the short film Zie 37 Stagen , was a Genie nominee for Best Live Action Short Drama at the 18th Genie Awards in 1997. [4] His feature film debut, The List, was an English-language remake of Liste noire. [5]

He subsequently directed the feature films Detour (2009) [6] and The Ultimate Pranx Case (2012), and wrote the screenplays for the films Louis Cyr , [7] Mafia Inc. , [8] Confessions of a Hitman [9] and Victoire (La Cordonnière). [10]

In 2020 he was announced as the writer of a forthcoming biopic of Quebec singer Diane Dufresne. [11]

He wrote the 2023 television series Mégantic . [12]

Christian Larouche is a Canadian film and television producer from Quebec. He is most noted as producer of the film Louis Cyr , which was the winner of the Jutra Award for Best Film at the 16th Jutra Awards in 2014.

Detour is a Canadian thriller film, directed by Sylvain Guy and released in 2009. The film stars Luc Picard as Léo Huff, an assistant to a wealthy businesswoman who is travelling to Le Bic, Quebec to attend a meeting on his employer's proposal to build a tourist attraction in Bic National Park. There he meets Lou, a young woman who needs his help liberating herself from her abusive boyfriend Roch.

Sylvain Brault is a Canadian cinematographer from Quebec. He is most noted as a two-time Genie Award nominee for Best Cinematography, receiving nods at the 15th Genie Awards in 1994 for My Friend Max , and at the 17th Genie Awards in 1996 for Rowing Through.

Yvann Thibaudeau is a Canadian film editor. He is most noted as a two-time Prix Jutra/Iris winner for Best Editing, winning at the 11th Jutra Awards in 2009 for Borderline and at the 21st Quebec Cinema Awards in 2019 for 1991.
