Sylvana Ward Durrett is a Consumer Tech CEO, formerly director of special projects at Vogue , responsible for organizing the Met Gala for eight years, [1] [2] and is co-founder and CEO of Maisonette. [3]
Durrett was born in Los Angeles, the daughter of actress Rosanna DeSoto and screenwriter David S. Ward.[ citation needed ] She graduated from Princeton University in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in English literature and began her career at Vogue as an assistant to editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. [4]
Durrett is considered one of the driving forces behind the annual Costume Institute Met Gala. [5] [6] She produced and appeared in the film The First Monday in May about the work that goes into the Gala. [7] She has also worked on The Fashion Fund which focuses on the business aspect of fashion. [8]
In 2017, Durrett founded a children's clothing business, Maisonette. [5] [6]
