The Syre or Syr (Luxembourgish : Sir) is a river flowing through Luxembourg, joining the Moselle in Mertert. It flows through Schuttrange, Roodt-sur-Syre, Betzdorf and Manternach.

James Joseph Zogby is the founder and president of the Arab American Institute (AAI), a Washington, D.C.–based organization that serves as a political and policy research arm of the Arab-American community. He is Managing Director of Zogby Research Services, LLC, specializing in research and communications and undertaking polling across the Arab world. In September 2013 President Obama appointed Zogby to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. Zogby is a lecturer and scholar on Middle East issues and a Visiting Professor of Social Research and Public Policy at New York University Abu Dhabi. From 2001 to 2017 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee.
Hate Them is the ninth studio album by Norwegian black metal band, Darkthrone. It was released 10 March 2003 by Moonfog Productions. Like their subsequent release, Sardonic Wrath, the album had an electronic intro and outro created by Lars Sørensen from Red Harvest. The cover image was the work of Eric Syre from Thesyre, and incorporated images of the Sagrada Família Catholic church in Barcelona. In 2012, the album was reissued by Peaceville Records, including a bonus CD with audio commentary by the band.

William Patrick Syring, who uses his middle name, Patrick,, is a retired American career diplomat who was convicted of threatening and violating the civil rights of James Zogby, the president and founder, and other senior employees, of the Arab American Institute during the 2006 Lebanon War. Syring pleaded guilty to the charges June 12, 2008, was sentenced to one year in prison July 11, 2008, and was released early, in January 2009. Syring was again indicted by a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia on very similar alleged offenses on February 21, 2018. At Syring's arraignment on March 14, 2018, Syring pleaded not guilty before The Honorable Robin M. Meriweather, United States Magistrate Judge, United States District Court for the District of Columbia. The Honorable Randolph Moss United States District Judge will preside at Syring's trial in March 2019.

The Whatcom Museum was originally built in 1892 as the city hall for the former town of New Whatcom, before it was joined with surrounding towns to form Bellingham, Washington. The building was designed in a Late Victorian style by Alfred Lee, a local architect, who used red brick and Chuckanut Sandstone for its construction. The design itself was an almost exact replica of the second Saginaw County Courthouse in Saginaw, Michigan, Designed by Fred W. Hollister.

Max Syring was a German long-distance runner who won a bronze medal over 10,000 m at the 1938 European Championships. He competed at the 1932 Summer Olympics in the 5,000 and 10,000 m events and finished in sixth and fifth place, respectively; he failed to reach the 5,000 m final at the 1936 Summer Olympics. In retirement Syring worked as an athletics coach. His trainees included Klaus Richtzenhain.
