Szun Waves is a British band composed of electronic producer Luke Abbott, Laurence Pike of PVT on drums and Jack Wyllie of Portico Quartet on saxophone. The band combines elements of spiritual and experimental jazz with electronic music. Their debut album At Sacred Walls was released in 2016. In August 2018 they released the follow-up, New Hymn To Freedom. [1] [2]
The group's debut album At Sacred Walls was recorded at the studio of British electronic artist James Holden, from which the album takes its name. The album was released on Buffalo Temple records, a label run by Abbott. [5]
New Hymn To Freedom was released on 31 August 2018 through The Leaf Label, on digital, CD, black vinyl and limited edition white vinyl. The album is made up of six "wholly unedited improvisations" that "illuminate the field on which many of UK’s experimental musicians have been playing of late". [6] On this record "the trio has seamlessly integrated everything from jazz to psych to ambient to kosmische to experimental electronic music in their ongoing effort to reach a sort of enlightenment through performance". [3]
Earth Patterns, Szun Waves' third album, was released on August 19, 2022. [7]

Her music "is rooted in old-school country and folk but brings in elements of experimental and black metal". Sometimes the term "dream folk" has been invoked to describe her work.

Triosk was an experimental jazz, electronica band, which formed in 2001 by Adrian Klumpes on piano, rhodes and sampler; Laurence Pike on drums, percussion and programming, and Ben "Donny" Waples on electric and acoustic bass. They disbanded in 2007. Though coming from a jazz foundation, their sound has strong electronica elements as well as influences from the textures of musique concrète, with their use of loops of hisses and crackles. They released three albums: 1+3+1 in November 2003 ; Moment Returns and The Headlight Serenade, both on The Leaf Label.

He records and performs extensively under his own name, under the alias Earlham Mystics and as one third of electronic jazz group Szun Waves. His work has been described as "left-field techno and kraut-infused electro" but also draws on more esoteric elements of improvisation, "psychedelic, filtered beats and slow-evolving synths".
