Eurodance is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the late 1980s in Europe. It combines many elements of hip hop, techno, Hi-NRG, house music, and Euro disco. This genre of music is heavily influenced by the use of rich vocals, sometimes with rapped verses. This, combined with cutting-edge synthesizers, strong bass rhythm and melodic hooks, establishes the core foundation of Eurodance music.
Snap! is a German Eurodance group formed in 1989 by producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti. The act has been through a number of line-up changes over the years, including American singers, songwriters and rappers Thea Austin, Turbo B, and Penny Ford. Their best known hits are "The Power" and "Rhythm Is a Dancer", both of which took the No. 1 spot in multiple countries.
Maxx is a German Eurodance project that was internationally successful in the mid-90s with the hit singles "Get-A-Way", "No More " and "You Can Get It". The name 'Maxx' is a special acronym for Maximum Xstasy.
Technotronic was a Belgian electronic music project formed in 1988 by Jo Bogaert, who originally gained popularity in Europe as a solo artist with various New Beat projects, including the Acts of Madmen and Nux Nemo. Together with rapper Manuela Kamosi, he produced the single "Pump Up the Jam", which was originally an instrumental released under the name The Pro 24s. Based on Farley Jackmaster Funk's "The Acid Life", this instrumental initially included vocal samples from Eddie Murphy's "Delirious" live set from 1983 and was months later replaced by newer music, along with a lyrics from Kamosi prior to the song's international release in September 1989. With Bogaert adopting the name Thomas De Quincey, a front for the act was put together, utilizing Congolese-born fashion model Felly Kilingi who became the group's rapper, appearing on the single's cover art and in the music video.
Oxide & Neutrino are an English DJ and MC garage duo from Swindon, consisting of Oxide and Neutrino.
"Jump Around" is a song by the American hip hop group House of Pain, produced by DJ Muggs of the hip hop group Cypress Hill, who has also covered the song. It became a hit in 1992, reaching number 3 in the United States. A 1993 re-release of the song in the United Kingdom, where the initial release had been a minor hit, peaked at number 8. "Jump Around" was featured at position 580 on Q Magazine's 1001 Best Songs Ever, number 24 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s, number 66 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop, number 325 on Blender's 500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born and number 47 on NME's 100 Best Songs Of The 1990s. The song is popular among dancehall DJs and is widely regarded in the United Kingdom as a club classic.
2 Brothers on the 4th Floor is a Dutch musical group created in 1990 by brothers Martin and Bobby Boer. The group has had success in many countries including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Norway, Finland, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom. The most recent members of 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor are Martin and Bobby Boer, Dutch singer Désirée Claudette Manders, and rapper D-Rock.
"Right in the Night " is a song by German electronic music duo Jam & Spoon, released as the second single from their album Tripomatic Fairytales 2001. It is a Eurodance song with elements from progressive and vocal trance. It is based on "Leyenda" by the classical composer Isaac Albéniz and features vocals by American vocalist Plavka, with lyrics by Nosie Katzmann. The flamenco-styled riff in the song is played by El Mar, who was trained as a classical guitarist.

"Twilight Zone" is a song recorded by the Belgian-Dutch Eurodance band 2 Unlimited. It was the second single released in January 1992. The UK release of the single was the first 2 Unlimited single to include the vocals of Anita Doth as they had not been featured on their debut hit "Get Ready for This". However, Ray Slijngaard's raps were once again removed. The instrumental "Rave" version of the track sounds different from the original "Not Enough" version, with a more Hi-NRG style with more bass and added cowbells. The single scored chart success in many European countries and topped the chart in the Netherlands. Twilight Zone was the second single in a row to just miss out on the top spot in the UK again peaking at number 2. It was 2 Unlimited's biggest hit on the U.S. Dance chart reaching number 5. The single won an award in the category for "Best Techno 12-inch Single" on the 1993 WMC International Dance Music Awards.
"No One" is a 1994 song recorded by Dutch Eurodance band 2 Unlimited. It was released as the second single from their third album, Real Things. The song was a Top 10 hit in at least 6 countries, as well as on the Eurochart Hot 100, where the song reached number 10. It also features a reference to "That's the Way Love Goes" by Janet Jackson.
"Maximum Overdrive" is a song recorded by Dutch Eurodance band 2 Unlimited. It was released in November 1993 as the fourth single from their second album, No Limits!. The UK release was the first UK single to maintain all the rap lyrics from Ray used in the European release. It reached number 15 in the UK top 40 in late 1993. The song was a number-one hit in Finland.
"Run Away" is the hit single by the German Eurodance and Pop music project Real McCoy from their album, Another Night (1995), which was the U.S. version of their second album, Space Invaders (1994). The song was first produced in 1994 in Germany by the music producers Juergen Wind and Frank Hassas (Quickmix) under the producer team name "Freshline".
"Electric" is a song recorded by Swedish artist Leila K. It is produced by Denniz Pop & Max Martin, and released as a single in late 1995. In 1996, it was included on her third album, Manic Panic. The chorus is sung by Swedish singer Jessica Folcker. The single peaked at number 2 in Finland, number 8 in Sweden and number 37 in Belgium. On the Eurochart Hot 100, it reached number 86. Outside Europe, it was a Top 20 hit in Israel, peaking at number 18.
"American Boy" is a song recorded by British singer and rapper Estelle for her second studio album Shine (2008). It features vocals from American rapper Kanye West. The song was written by Estelle, West, Ethan Hendrickson, will.i.am, John Legend, Josh Lopez, Caleb Speir, and Keith Harris. It was produced by will.i.am, and uses the instrumental from "Impatient" from his own third studio album Songs About Girls (2007). "American Boy" is a breezy disco-funk song that lyrically describes a romance with an American suitor. The song's conception came after Legend, Estelle's mentor, suggested she write a song about meeting an American man.
"Get-A-Way" is a European hit single by the German Eurodance project Maxx. It was first released on October 1993 as the debut single from the project. In Germany, it reached Gold status for selling over 250,000 units. It peaked within the Top 10 in at least 13 countries; Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. By mid-1994, it sold over 1.1 million singles in Europe.
"Sex on the Beach" is a song recorded by Dutch Eurodance group T-Spoon. It was released as a single in June 1997 and had great success in several countries, peaking at number 2 in the United Kingdom. In 2004 the song was released in a new version as "Sex on the Beach 2004". It peaked at number 70 in the Netherlands.
Pharao is a German Eurodance act produced by Alexander Hawking and DJ Stevie Steve. The band was fronted by Egyptian-Indian singer Kyra Pharao and the American rapper Deon Blue. Pharao released two studio albums, Pharao (1994) and The Return (1998).
Sqeezer, also Squeezer, was a German Eurodance and Pop duo formed in 1995 by Jim Reeves. Sqeezer was originally fronted by Reeves and Yvonne Spath. The group has sold more than 1 million records worldwide. All singles were represented more than ten million times. They are best known for their charting singles "Blue Jeans", "Sweet Kisses" and "Without You".
