T.S. Bajwa is a politician and was a member of the Parliament of India representing Jammu and Kashmir in the Rajya Sabha (the upper house of the Parliament),with term ending on 25 November 2008. [2] He resign from Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party on 26 October 2020. [3]
In March 2014,he was one of 48 politicians who were debarred by the Election Commission of India from contesting then ongoing Assembly and Parliamentary polls,for their failure to furnish expenditure details incurred during elections on different occasions earlier,while contesting Parliamentary and Assembly polls. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was a politician from the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. He started in the wing of the National Conference led by G. M. Sadiq,which later merged into the Indian National Congress. He switched to Janata Dal in 1987,eventually founding his own regional party,People's Democratic Party (PDP). He served twice as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir,during November 2002–November 2005 and March 2015–January 2016. He was also Minister of Tourism in Rajiv Gandhi's cabinet and Home Minister of India in V. P. Singh's cabinet. The PDP continues to be a political force in Jammu and Kashmir,currently led by his daughter Mehbooba Mufti.
Mehbooba Mufti is an Indian politician of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),who served as the last Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir as a State,from 4 April 2016 to 19 June 2018. After the revocation of the special status (autonomy) of the state in August 2019,Mufti was detained without any charges at first and later under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act. She was released only in October 2020,after the Supreme Court of India quizzed the government about the length of her detention.

Elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are conducted in accordance with the Constitution of India to elect the representatives of various bodies at national,state and district levels including the 114 seat unicameral Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and the Parliament of India. Zulfkar also implemented the national food security act (NFSA) in the state and launched a food for poor scheme (MMSFES).
Peer Mohammed Hussain Soharvardi better known as Sher - e - Kuthar among his followers is a Kashmiri politician and former Minister of State in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. He served as Member of Legislative Assembly (2002-2008) after being elected from the Shangus assembly constituency. He,subsequently,also served as Vice Chairman of the J&K Muslim Wakf Board.
