Thomas-James Everton "TJ" Bramble (born 9 May 2001) is a professional footballer who plays for Welling United. Born in England, he represents the Antigua and Barbuda national football team.

Club career

Gillingham

Bramble began his career as a youth team player for Gillingham. In February 2019, he joined Deal Town on a 28-day work experience agreement. [3] Bramble signed his first professional contract with Gillingham in May 2019. [4] On 1 November 2019, he joined East Grinstead Town on loan. [5] He played seven games for the club and scored two goals.

On 22 February 2020, Bramble joined Sittingbourne on loan. [6] He was released by Gillingham in June 2020 without ever having played for the first team. [7]

Dover Athletic

On 27 August 2020, Bramble signed for National League club Dover Athletic. [8] He made his club debut on the opening day of the season in a 1–0 victory over Notts County. [9] On 24 October 2020, Bramble scored his first goal for the club, the final goal in a 3–3 draw with Yeovil Town in the FA Cup; Dover lost the tie on penalties. [10] Bramble was released by the club at the end of the 2021–22 season following relegation, being offered the chance to come back for pre-season and prove his fitness. [11]

Chelmsford City

Following his release from Dover, Bramble went on trial at Leyton Orient and Barnsley. [12] [13] In March 2023, Bramble signed for National League South side Chelmsford City. On 28 March 2023, Bramble made his debut for the club in a 1–1 Tolleshunt D'Arcy Memorial Cup draw against Heybridge Swifts. [14]

Welling United

In July 2023, Bramble signed for Welling United following a successful trial. [15]

International career

In March 2018, Bramble was called up to the Antigua and Barbuda team for a pair of friendlies against Bermuda and Jamaica. He made his debut in a 3–2 win over Bermuda on 22 March. [16] [17]

Later the same year he featured for the Benna Boys in the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in the United States, scoring in a win over Sint Maarten and a loss to Honduras in the group stage. [2] [18]

Andrew Hessenthaler is an English football manager and former player who is head of recruitment at EFL League Two club Gillingham. He began his career in non-league football and did not turn professional until he joined Watford at the age of 26. In 1996, Hessenthaler joined Gillingham and spent the next ten years at the club as player and later player-manager, managing the club to its highest ever finish in the English football league system and becoming regarded as a legend of the Kent club. After leaving Gillingham, he had a short spell at Barnet, before joining Dover Athletic in 2007. In his two seasons in charge he led the club to successive championships, of Isthmian League Division One South and the Isthmian League Premier Division. After three years at Dover, he became manager at Gillingham for the second time, but his contract was terminated at the end of the 2011–12 season. He returned to the club as assistant manager in 2014, before taking on a similar role at Leyton Orient the following year. In 2016, he was appointed manager of the club, but was sacked later the same year.
