Total Request Live is an American television program broadcast on MTV that premiered on September 14, 1998. TRL featured popular music videos played during its countdown, and was also used as a promotion tool by musicians, actors, and other celebrities to promote their newest works to the show's target teen demographic.
Top of the Pops (TOTP) is a British music chart television programme, made by the BBC and broadcast weekly between 1 January 1964 and 30 July 2006. The programme was the world's longest-running weekly music show. For most of its history, it was broadcast on Thursday evenings on BBC One. Each show consisted of performances of some of the week's best-selling popular music records, usually excluding any tracks moving down the chart, including a rundown of that week's singles chart. This was originally the Top 20, though this varied throughout the show's history. The Top 30 was used from 1969, and the Top 40 from 1984.

The Pepsi Chart was a networked Sunday afternoon Top 40 countdown on UK radio that started life on 1 August 1993 with Neil 'Doctor' Fox hosting the show live from the Capital Radio studios in London. The Pepsi Chart show carried an emphasis in fun and was the UK's first personality-led chart show: the presenter was live and exciting and big-prize competitions were held.
Total Request Live is an Australian television program based on the American program of the same name broadcast on MTV that features popular music. It premiered in early April 2004 as a weekend show produced on a large cruising vessel known as The Pontoon, dubbed the "MTV Cruiser" which floated around Sydney Harbour containing the audience, performing bands and VJs. Australian band Killing Heidi were the first to perform on the show. After the summer months TRL Australia was broadcast from various venues around Sydney before moving into a studio with a live audience. The show is now live on Tuesday to Thursday and then TRL Weekend on Friday, each day from 5pm to 6pm EST. The show was originally hosted by Kyle Sandilands, Maz Compton and Jason Dundas and simulcast on 2Day FM. Kyle withdrew from hosting duties during 2005, leaving the hosting of TRL Australia to Maz Compton, Lyndsey Rodrigues, Nathan Sapsford and Jason Robert Dundas.
MTV2 Pop was a German music channel. It launched on 1 May 2001, taking over the transponder left by the analogue service of MTV UK and Ireland when it closed down. It replaced VH-1 Germany. The channel mainly focused on Europop and eurodance music.
