Taarak Mehta is an intelligent writer known for his unique ideas, composed nature and hate for diet food. Shailesh Lodha, who was a part of Comedy Circus was cast by Asit Kumarr Modi as Taarak Mehta, the narrator of the show. [2] The character of Taarak was originally portrayed by Shailesh Lodha from 2008 to 2022, for 14 years. [3] [4] Since 2022, Taarak is played by Sachin Shroff. [5]

Influence

Lodha's portrayal of Taarak Mehta has garnered significant acclaim. Taarak's character emphasis community values and is known as a dutiful husband and a true friend. His intelligence and calm nature makes his character lovable. [6] Taarak's friendship with Jethalal, and interactions with other men of the society, is a source of entertainment. Jethalal often call Taarak his "fire brigade", as he solves several problems of Jethalal with his ideas. Taarak's chemistry with his on-screen wife Neha Mehta, has garnered significant attention, with fans frequently expressing their admiration for the couple. In 2023 Neela Films, the production house of the show, [10] launched "Taarak Fruit Match" and "Taarak 8 Ball Pool" [11] mobile games based on the character Taarak Mehta, after investing a noteworthy sum of ₹24 crore into the gaming platform. [12]
