Taavi Vartia

Taavi Vartia (born 9 November 1965, in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish film director, script writer and writer. Taavi Vartia has since 1990 planned, directed and produced programmes for all of Finland's national television channels: YLE TV1, YLE TV2, MTV3 and Nelonen, across a range of genres including drama, entertainment, music, profiles and documentaries. He has been involved in the production of over 1100 episodes. Vartia has also written and directed several company- and image videos for Finnish companies. In recent years he has received recognition as a writer of young adult dramas and as a documentary film maker. Vartia has published four novels. [1] Vartia founded Taaborin kesäteatteri/ Taabori Summer Theater in Nurmijärvi [2] 2009 and started to run the movie theatre Kino Juha [3] 2019.

Taavi Vartia has directed numerous plays for the whole family at the Taaborin kesätetatteri/ Taabor Summer Theater, which he founded in 2009. The summer theater is based in Taaborinvuori, Nurmijärvi, Finland.

Rölli (sometimes called Rollo in English is a character from Finnish television portrayed by Allan "Allu" Tuppurainen. The character originally appeared in segments on the children's TV show Pikku Kakkonen on YLE's Channel 2 in 1986. Original episodes were produced until 2001 and older episodes have been seen in constant reruns on the program. In these segments, Rölli would tell stories of his amazing adventures while often criticising and questioning public norm or the activities of people.

Jenni Mari Vartiainen is a Finnish pop singer. Before her professional musical endeavours, she was a figure skater in her teenage years and attended the Kuopio Senior High of Music and Dance. Vartiainen rose to publicity by winning the Finnish talent show Popstars in October 2002 with Susanna Korvala, Ushma Karnani and Jonna Pirinen. The four formed the band Gimmel that released three studio albums, sold over 160,000 records and received three Emma Awards, accolades for outstanding achievements in music, awarded by the Finnish music industry federation, Musiikkituottajat. The band broke up in October 2004.

Talent Suomi is the Finnish version of the Got Talent format of the program and airs on Nelonen. The idea behind the programme is to search for the most talented and promising entertainment. Talent contest took off for the first time in Finland at the end of September 2007. The programme was originally hosted by Susanna Laine and Martin Coulter and had contemporary magazine editor Katja Ståhl, television presenter and film director Timo Koivusalo, as well as the Finnish National Ballet dancer and choreographer Sami Saikkonen as judges. The prize was €30,000.

Kaikkien aikojen Pertsa ja Kilu is a Finnish play. It was written by Taavi Vartia and produced in 2008.

Eino Grön, born January 31, 1939, is a Finnish American singer known for his performance of a wide range of popular music styles, including Tango, jazz, and spiritual music. Grön was born at the island of Reposaari in Pori but has lived the last 30 years mainly in Palm Beach, Florida.

Ismo Mikael Leikola, sometimes known professionally as ISMO, is a Finnish comedian, musician, author, screenwriter, and YouTuber. Leikola made his United States debut in 2014, when he won the "Funniest Person in the World" competition organized by the comedy club Laugh Factory. In 2015, he made comedy series ISMO for Finnish television and moved to the United States. He gained more recognition after his appearance on the Conan talk show in 2018 and has since toured internationally. He has a YouTube channel with over 391,000 subscribers.

<i>Finders of the Lost Yacht</i> Finnish film from 2021

Finders of the Lost Yacht is a Finnish film written and directed by Taavi Vartia. The film draws inspiration from the Finnish children's book series Pertsa ja Kilu by Väinö Riikkilä and specifically from the novel Viimeiset kaanit. The film follows the adventures of two best friends, Pertsa and Kilu, as they embark on a search for a lost treasure while trying to evade a robber.

<i>Amazing Race Suomi</i> Finnish adventure reality game television series

Amazing RaceSuomi is a Finnish reality competition show based on the American series The Amazing Race. Hosted by Heikki Paasonen and following the premise of other versions in the Amazing Race franchise, the show follows teams of two as they race around the world. Each season is split into legs, with teams tasked to deduce clues, navigate themselves in foreign areas, interact with locals, perform physical and mental challenges, and travel by air, boat, car, taxi, and other modes of transport. Teams are progressively eliminated at the end of most legs for being the last to arrive at designated Pit Stops. The first team to arrive at the Finish Line wins the grand prize of EUR30,000.

Syke (Pulse) or also known as Nurses is a Finnish medical drama television series that has been airing since 2014. Set in the trauma department of a central hospital in a major city, the series initially focused on the lives of four nurses, both at work and during their personal time.
