Tabea Lara Alt (born 18 March 2000) is a former German elite artistic gymnast. She is the 2017 World bronze medalist on balance beam, and a 2016 Olympian. She competed at the 2016 Gymnastics Olympic Test Event, contributing to the team placing of second, which qualified the German team for the 2016 Summer Olympics. [1] At the 2016 Summer Olympics, the German team finished 6th in the team all-around competition. [2]
At the 2016 American Cup, Alt finished seventh in the all-around with a score of 54.399. [3] She competed at the 2016 Gymnastics Olympic Test Event in April. There she helped her team qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics with a team finish of second place. [4] Individually, she was third in the all-around. At the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, the German team finished 6th in the team all-around competition. [5] Alt did not qualify for any of the event finals. [6]
Alt won the 2017 Stuttgart World Cup in March 2017, beating Angelina Melnikova and Morgan Hurd. Alt would also go on to win the 2017 London World Cup in April, placing ahead of Angelina Melnikova, Victoria Nguyen and Amy Tinkler. [7] At the 2017 European Championships, she finished ninth on balance beam (10.966) after qualifying in fifth place (13.700). [3]
In the 2017 World Gymnastics Championships in Montreal, Canada, Tabea Alt qualified first into the balance beam final, and won the bronze medal with the score 13.300, [3] behind her teammate Pauline Schäfer and Morgan Hurd from the USA.
In December 2017, the Alt and the Alt II were added to the Code of Points. Alt debuted both uneven bars elements at the 2017 World Championships. [3]
In October 2018, Alt had surgery on a persistent shoulder injury. [3]

At the junior level, she was the 2010 Youth Olympics all-around champion, uneven bars champion, vault champion, and floor exercise bronze medalist. Diana Laura Bulimar is a Romanian artistic gymnast and a 2-time European Champion with Romania. She was part of the Romanian team at the 2012 Summer Olympics that won the bronze medal.
Phan Thị Hà Thanh is a retired Vietnamese artistic gymnast from Haiphong and a two-time Olympian. She is currently the most decorated and successful gymnast from Vietnam on the international stage. Black is also the 2018 Commonwealth Games all-around champion, a two time Pan American Games all-around champion, and a six-time Canadian national all-around champion. At the 2016 Olympic Games, Black finished 5th in the individual all-around. At the 2020 Olympic Games, Black placed 4th in the balance beam final, the highest placement in the Olympics for a Canadian gymnast.
Simone Arianne Biles is an American artistic gymnast. Her seven Olympic medals tied with Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals won by an American gymnast. Having won 25 World Championship medals, she is the most decorated gymnast in history and is considered by many to be the greatest female gymnast of all time. In 2022, Biles was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Joe Biden.
Angelina Romanovna Melnikova is a Russian artistic gymnast. With eleven Olympic and World medals, she is the joint third-most decorated Russian gymnast of all time. Lilia Igorevna Akhaimova is a retired Russian artistic gymnast. She represented the Russian Olympic Committee at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a gold medal in the team event. She is a two-time World silver medalist with the Russian team.
Morgan Elizabeth Hurd is an American artistic gymnast and a five-time member of the United States women's national team (2016–21). She is the 2017 World all-around champion and balance beam silver medalist and the 2018 World all-around bronze medalist and floor exercise silver medalist. She has won four medals at the USA Gymnastics National Championships during her senior career and is a two-time American Cup champion. She was a member of the gold-medal winning American teams at the 2018 World Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games.
Eythora Elisabet Thorsdottir is a Dutch gymnast born to Icelandic parents. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she finished ninth in the individual all-around, the highest placing ever for a gymnast from the Netherlands. At the 2017 European Championships, she won a silver medal on balance beam and a bronze medal on floor exercise.
